No Career Mode

Gutted to find out this has no career mode, probably not an issue for people who play online but for people like me who only play career mode its a total deal breaker. :(

I guess I'll wait and hope they put it in F1 2016

its not the same as career mate, in that mode you pick a CURRENT driver and drive as them for a year. Its not like career mode was where you put your name in and start at a low team. thats gone!

its just "pick a current driver" and race as them. sorry but no matter how you spin it, thats NOT career mode.

Well, I was about to pull the trigger on the pre-order until I came to the forums and saw this thread. I really like the online racing but, I also spend a lot of time in Career mode and enjoy it immensely. I'm afraid the lack of a Career mode will result in a "no sale" for me.

This, sadly. I've been really looking forward to this release since the announcement last year and very nearly preordered today. Now I'm not going to, I only play career mode. I guess this is where the pulling it forward to June is kicking in.

No career mode? What is this, the 90's? Even F1GP ('91) allowed you to put in your own name, even though it only had a 1 season championship mode. Damn, I was really looking forward to this one :(

there is no career mode but you can play championship mode (i think its called that). from what i understand it is the same as career mode only you choose an actual f1 driver to play as

From the F1 2015 store page:

"Compete as your favourite FORMULA ONE star in the new Championship Season and push yourself to the limit in the challenging Pro Season mode."

That doesn't sound anything like Career mode to me. That sounds like playing a single season as one of the current drivers from F1.

Personally, I'd rather have an actual Career mode where I can play multiple seasons. I'd also like to be able to use my own name and start with a weak team and work my way up through the ranks (sign better contracts) over the course of those multiple seasons.

I'm really gutted about this, tbh I was really looking forward to it.

I might buy Project CARS instead but it's not the same as F1 :(
