Report a translation problem
You can usually get round it if you only activate or connect your controller after you hit the scrolling menu where you can pick "quick race" etc.

Go to Device Manager>Xbox Peripherals>Xbox Gaming Device>Update Driver Software>Browse my computer for driver software>Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer> and then select Microsoft Xbox One Controller>Next>Close.
That fixed it for me.
Pretty cool finding! I will try it out later today and report back here.
