later on you will unlock the Death Element, which has a spell called Curse, while cursed, attempting to heal will cause a cursed target to take damage instead, making this boss a joke.
That's doubly wrong : Cursing does not turn healing into damage, it applies damage on top of healing, effectively nullifying it. And you can't use another element than Water spells in a pilgrimage
ugh right I completely forgot that part. dumb answer on my end. potion pots could help I guess, provided poisoned is leveld up enough that you can make em.
don't forget about your familiar, he's also could be helpful while you are limited with your spells.
as for me the water is low priority for pilgrimage (ye, i know, manareg). The main priorities are mind, time and electric, then death and space.
