I need more tips on how to defeat the djinn, just wearing the glove of cheap spells left a ton of my kit still above the mana threshold :(

Then again maybe I just haven't retired enough times to handle such a tough storyline.... but the other 3 etherel enemies went down so easily :(

Oh I unlocked spellcrafting and now I have water prism spellcrafting to save me, hooray!

in melee with mithril armor and saber for example and low-level spells or via dodge set again in melee. you can complete this storyline anytime later

The EASIEST way to defeat the Djinn requires that you continue the story a wee bit and get access to the Holy Element. Once unlocked and leveled to 52 you unlock an item called the Dispelling salve. Just having this in your pouch item will immediately dispell the mana debuff, and the djinn won't recast it far as I can tell. not that the djinn should live that long with you ahving access to your full might against it anyhow. Besides the salve has 2 charges each, so it's not like it would matter anyhow.

That's pretty bad idea. You can beat him without anything special long before that point. That's too far and the rewards for beating him will be useless. Also if you can come so far you can just send familiars to farm that area and they will beat it for you and you just get the drops to deliver to complete the quest, this will be easier than having to do what you said in spoiler.

Win several battles on the last map for temporary unlock. Find and complete a story there for permanent.

Easiest way to beat the djinn early is with the gloves of spell fluency, they make a bunch of useful spells usable.

my primary was earth element, killed djinn with the cheapo gale scepter +8, gloves of spell fluency +4 and some accuracy buffs. wind spells up to the highest i could cast were available, fast and because of my 10 spell catalysts also strong enough. rocky, my familiar tanked the fight

now i am at the point where i dont know what to pick first from the rewards xD
