easy way to beat the ethereal bosses

your familiars can kill and loot the ethereal bosses for you through exploration as it turns out. I was farming venom powder for a story line and realized I was wracking up a lot of ethereal eel kills. I moved my familiars to the next zone and they killed the puppet. I then proceeded to kill the next two bosses the same way and completed the story line without ever beating one of them myself. no idea if that normally occurs or if all the +loot gear I was wearing had some effect.

That's an awesome tip, worked as a charm on my NG+ where I wouldn't have been able to kill them for a while otherwise :-)

Nice tip, didn't think this was possible, just got my first bit of essence, so one boss I don't need to kill or find, 3 more to go.

What level were your familiars at? Mine keep dying to the eel while exploring on their own.

level 48 or there abouts, another one was 54. if they can do the area, they should be able to do the bosses, but I only seen this happen rarely, as they are quite rare to begin with. But level 4 myth armour set, helps a lot.

If our gear and accessories can effect the summons while they explore on their own, does that mean us equipping the mirror would help as well?

Yes and no, Familiar gear can affect our minions stats, but it won't change anything since all that matters for minions when exploring is level. If your have a minion level 60 or higher, it will finish early areas so fast that the low encoutner rate becomes a non issue.
