If you're struggling with the Abomination like I was...
This think is a PAIN, as its energy shield and Regen are super annoying to get through.

However, there's a pretty simple, if slightly cheesy way to beat him easily.

Once you hit about 2800-3000 Def, throw on a Crit Bangle and with the healing spells you SHOULD be able to tank him indefinitely,

After that, all you have to do Is stack up an insane amount of Poison duration using Intoxicate, then you can one-shot him using Poison Explosion.

For me, personally, it took about 2000 seconds worth at 525 damage second, and that was on the low end without some of the poison boosts (i'm going for a Low retirement run)

Its a super east and safe way of dealing with this otherwise annoying boss.

Except you can't stack poison. It refreshes the timer instead of stacking. Not sure how you managed to stack it. I didn't see any items or spells that allow you to do that and I am currently at elemental level 75+ for primary elements and 60+ for others. Maybe I missed something.

It was an easy boss which I killed on the first try, I don't remember what I did specifically because of that. For the next boss I needed to retire and come back later, it was more difficult.

the duration of poison stacks if you use the same source. that is what makes explosion as good as it is.

the best way to stack poison is to use the Assassin's Baselard leveld alot + a high level assassins cloak to buff the poison damage the baselard does to hell and back, even with a +4 each hit is giving a 150+ poison and it jsut keeps climbing with duration so with a high attack speed Poison explosion can become an absolute nuke in no time.

And thats before factoying in any buffs from Synergizer, if you add that as well, I might ad.

Interesting. I didn't know this and thought each time you cast it the timer just refreshes. Now I checked the entry for Poison in Help again and this info is right there. Strange that I missed it, and thanks for explaining it. I just used my Greater Toxin Concoctions with potential 300k damage which just nukes enemies in Plains of Peace but this info opens new ways to apply better poison in long-term fights.

Well, it not per second, it's total. Level 15 potion, 32% damage and 10% poison duration from synchro board, Level 15 alchemist's cowl.

Potion's 300/sec for 20 seconds becomes 300*1.1^15=1253/sec per 20*1.1^15=83 seconds at level 15.
Alchemist's cowl gives 1+(0.2*1.1^15)=1.83x to both poison damage and duration.
Total becomes 1253*1.83*1.32=3026/sec per 83*1.83*1.1=167sec.
That's 505342 damage.
Add Frailty for double that damage.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3257608016
So it's 1m damage if they all trigger correctly - frailty and potion first, poison explosion next. If poison explosion triggers before frailty or after normal poison spell and before potion, it may result is smaller damage.

In normal farming mode when I don't use alchemist's cowl or synchro board it is
1253*83*2=207998, well, almost 300k damage. I must have remembered the value which I checked when I wasn't really in the farming mode and forgot to switch the board.

Strange. Dirk of Ruin looks better to me.

Level 15 gives 1.1^15=4.18x multiplier.

Assassin's Baselard (level 0): -15% attack delay, 15/sec for 1 sec
Assassin's Baselard (level 15): -42% attack delay, 63/sec for 4.18 sec

Assassin's Cloak (level 15): 400*4.18=1671%=x17.71

Asssassin't Baselard (level 15) with Assassin's Cloak (level 15): -42% attack delay, 1116/sec for 4.18 sec

Dirk of Ruin (level 0): -30% attack delay, 300/sec for 1 sec
Dirk of Ruin (level 15): -64% attack delay, 1254/sec for 4.18 sec

Dirk of Ruin is better according to math (higher speed and higher damage) and it requires 1 less accessory slots. It's harder to craft though because Baselard unlocks much earlier and so it gains more extra levels during transmutation. But at max stats Dirk of Ruin is better.

I had a Fire / Earth build, this may just have been the easiest boss I've done as of yet ... next is hard though!
