DEMO LIVE! + Participating in Steam Next Fest

Hello everyone!

Happy to announce that we'll be participating in the Steam Next Fest, which starts today (Oct 13) at 10am PT / 1pm ET.

This demo is similar to what debuted at this past years' SAGE, but expanded and with more content. To re-introduce the game:

Dungeon Gals is a 2D action/adventure platformer with an emphasis on exploration and puzzle-solving. Each area will require you to utilize each character's special abilities in order to uncover paths forward and discover lost treasures. Only one character can be in play at a time, though you can switch which character you play as at special altars. It's up to you to experiment with each character to discover their strengths, weaknesses, ways they interact with the environment, and how they can help forge paths for each other to progress.

Delve deep into mysterious ruins, inspired by handheld classics such as Wario Land 3 and ZELDA!

Enjoying demo, but not performance

I was enjoying this quite a bit, but really started stuttering, hanging, and hitching the more I progressed. I'm on an RTX 4070 Super, Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 64GB RAM, SSD...doesn't really feel like I should be getting that kind of performance for this level of game, no offence. I'd like to play more but it's just not functioning well enough to do so....

Pros: Like the art style. Decent Performance. Good System Settings and accessibility settings Controller Support works. Dangerous Dungeon for Furries and Waifu Enjoyers. Writing is great but I saw a spot where Magic girl referred to Moth girl as "it". Not sure what that was about. Assuming its a translation thing. (I've been informed those are her pronouns. My bad.) Nitpick for a great demo

This was a very enjoyable little slice of game! The art was very cute. I don't know if this is intentional, but I noticed that the font had some gray pixels in the characters, and it looked a bit odd to me. The screenshots with text on the store page don't look like this, so I'm wondering why this change was made?...

Seems like a decent game overall, but I did have a couple issues: First, I want to echo what the other user said about how it's awkward that the B button is confirm instead of A. Not only does this mean players will accidentally buy an item or change an option when they intend to back out of a menu, but it also means there's no dedicated back-out-of-menu button (the thing that's normally mapped to B), so players have to scroll down to the dedicated Back option each time. Awesome demo!

Just completed the demo and it is very gay and very cute. Movement feels very good and I like that each girl has distinct abilities, making for interesting puzzles. Some minor things for potential improvement: - "confirm" action in menus is mapped to B button in controller. I would suggest changing it to A button, as this is a standard in games and feels more natural. - there is something weird about boss sprite, it feels out of place.
