This game was gorgeous, one of the most beautiful pixel art games I've played with a great storyline and a lot of great systems. It gave doom survival vibes with excellent emotional storyline, an interesting battle and camp system, and stalker-like inventory management. I really appreciated all the aspects of this game and was enthralled by the story. Look forward to seeing what else Pixellore Inc has to offer. <3

The game is too hard for me.

I was still in the training and the monster climbed out of the elevator killed me 10 times. I did enjoy in the first hour but just can't pass the training session. Didn't find any guide online. Refund in desperation.

Overall it's a pretty cool game. If you're someone who plays a lot of turn-based games and enjoys a challenge, I'd recommend bumping up the difficulty from normal to something a bit higher. I finished it on normal and after I understood how everything worked (a few hours in), there was basically no challenge but since I'm mentally subnormal I don't like changing the difficulty once I've started so I just kept it on normal to the end.

The story kept me interested all the way through and a lot of the characters were memorable but don't expect anything groundbreaking. Fair warning though, this game does not have voice acting and there is a lot of reading, if that is not your thing I'd suggest playing something else because while the gameplay is fun, I wouldn't recommend the game for it alone.

The style of combat in this game is something I generally enjoy but somewhere about 2/3 way through I kind of just wanted to avoid it because how inconvenient it was, since I never felt like I was fighting for my character's life (due to the normal difficulty). But you do get some options for how you want to play, you could go melee only, ranged only or a mix of both and both ranged and melee have one handed and two handed options. Additionally there are special "nanobot" and normal physical abilities you can unlock. There are also quite a few offensive consumables to deploy. To unlock some of these options you need to research specific resources!

The crafting and camp management is mostly the reason why it felt too easy for me, I was never struggling with any supplies and at the end I had pretty much researched everything from minerals to plants to enemies. I would always have surplus of equipment in storage and an inventory full of supplies. You are able to decide how much power goes into the mine, how much food goes into the facilities and whatnot, but I never had to touch these sliders, other than the power supplied to the mine. I thought boosting the food for facilities would enable the workers to provide higher quality items and vice versa, but I never noticed a change, perhaps it was bugged, not implemented or just poorly explained to the point it completely went over my head.

There's a sort of a wave defense event that happens every so often and it's usually what forced me to the surface. At first it felt intense and stressful but once I realized the enemy had zero chance of breaking through it became more of an inconvenience than a desperate defense to keep the lights on. I also feel they could've done something more interesting than one type of turret with stat upgrades and only one type of barricade with limited placement options for both. The turrets were also different only superficially, one is green, the other red and their stats increase. Not the most interesting implementation.

All in all I'd recommend the game for those who are into reading and turn-based gameplay! I definitely got my money's worth and am excited to see what else these devs can cook up.
