Is this game a joke game or a legit board game simulator?
I'm not trolling or whatever, I'm just wondering if this is actually meant to be a game where you play board games with your friends, or just a game where you throw stuff around and "play" board games.

I dont own it and the video isnt much help.

It is a legitimate board game simulator. Have a poke around the workshop for TTS - you will notice that there are over 9000 mods available, some of them very elaborate in their execution.

You will find many popular board games - from coop games like Pandemic, war games like Axis and Allies, family games like Uno, euro games like Agricola or Caverna to miniature games like X-Wing Miniature Battles.

So in short: Not a joke. A very powerful engine to share board games with your friends online.

it's both

It's a MASSIVE sandbox and you can play legit board games or make your own up.

There are easily 10,000+ workshop submissions of games, models, tiles, etc

I wish I got this a long time ago lol I just got it past week too already 30+ hours.

It's actually worth the $20 if you don't want to wait honestly. My friend finally caved in the past sale ($10) and bought it. We played 8 hours the first night... Strictly with Magic. He's excited we can also play Dominion.

Their advertisement video is just a demo of a physic engine... because only lisenced mods could be shown off.

What you have here is, in its essence, a table where you can put games onto and play them, like you would in your living room. Some of the games are free to get in the workshop, for some they want money, generally, though, there is a LOT of free content available. At least so far I didn't run out of stuff to try.

Throwing the table is usually not part of the game, no.

I bought the game with 3 friends in this summer sale and we are having a blast playing carcassone, catan and risk (we played this a lot until 2 of them went to another country). Now we can have fun again, its the more close you can be to be playing in the same living room with a real table. We are trying new games also like Dead Winter, the possibilities are insane. If you have ppl to play dont miss this one. 10/10

The game IS a joke btw, it's aimed at children but they allow porno servers.. They also allow you to host illegal content on your servers.. other than that, the game itself is pretty fun, so many varieties of so many games to play.

Servers are local. There is no way for the developers to moderate the content people host. This game is a sandbox, it allows people to host basically anything.

It's up to people hosting to moderate their own server and up to users to know which server they should or shouldn't join (like a 14yrs old kid joining a porn site that explicitly tells you need to be 18+ to join it. The kid is at fault, not the site itself)
