ipv6 trouble
My new ISP only offers ipv6 and now no one seems to be able to connect to games hosted by me.

I tried enabling NAT punchthrough and setting a proxy in TTS while (for testing purposes) having disabled the firewall in my router, but to no avail.

Right now I really don't know where to look for a solution to this problem. :/ It's a bit annoying, since (among my friends) I'm the one who bought all the DLCs. ^^

TTS should work well with IPv6, I have several friends using UnityMedia that can host just fine.

Did you enable portforwarding for the port you use in TTS (can be set in advanced settings). If not, that would be the next step to try.

Port forwarding with IPv6 does NOT work.

Though you should be able to host by using a proxy, which is the case for me, so it might be something else on your pc making a fuss.

Of course it does.

But you need an internal network that has ipv6 also.

The ipv6 to ipv4 migration is kind of a pain. If you get an ipv6 router you can do port forward normally.

Alright, I'm not a tech guy so there probably is a way to make port forwarding with IPv6 and DS-Lite work.

But since i have an v6 connection, port forwarding does nothing for me although it always worked before while using v4, so i'm just speaking from experience.

But using the ingameproxy should still be enough to at least be able to host a game without the need for portforwarding, so that wasn't really the point anyway.

The problem with proxy is increased ping.

What kind of router you guys have? Most routers made after 2014 you just need to turn on some option in them to enable ipv6

The glorious Technicolor TC7200-U or something, provided by ISP.
Not gonna buy one for myself though, but would still like to know if I could get port forwarding to work with DS-Lite.

Also, the increased ping is (again, my experience) fine, especially in TTS.

ISP provided routers usually come with custom firmware.... Perhaps if you called them they could walk you through the configuration.

Also, I'm not sure what DS lite is.

DS-Lite basically comes down to: I don't have my own public IPv4 Address, but rather share it with a bunch of other IPv6 users, so even if i would open my ports, the client would'nt be able to connect since it can't read through the v6 addresses behind the v4 address.

Which is why i am almost certain port forwarding does not work, regardless of what i do.

I just assumed the OP had the same issue, since there shouldn't be any problem if he didn't have DS-Lite.

I tried using the port forwarding option present in my Unitymedia router, but it didn't work. (Well, one attempt with disabled NAT punchthrough and enabled proxy in TTS allowed someone to connect to me, but it immediately led to a P2P error in TTS and the table didn't load properly for the clients. Tey only got an untextured white table and then nothing changed for them anymore.)

It seems for the time being I can work around the problem by connection to a VPN, though I hope I'll find a better solution at some point.

EDIT: And I assume it is DS-Lite. ;)

what you really need to do is get someone who has an ipv6 address to try to connect you, to see if there's any other problem first with that first.

I'm not sure how well the TTS proxies deal with trying to talk between ipv4 and ipv6 clients.
