Easy setting with Autoheal is pretty much a cakewalk.
You forgot to mention that Auto Heal costs 20 Gold (in-game currency), and that the only way to get 20 Gold is by playing the game, which of course means the player has to endure countless deaths, countless trips back to the menu screen. - the very things that will kill off enthusiasm and confidence in many 'undecided' new players.
'Auto Heal' should be an integral part of the 'Easy' mode experience. It should be available from the very start at no cost to the new player. It should be there to ease the new player into the game, to encourage their enthusiasm. By all means toggle it so that the player (even on 'Easy') can switich it on/off, but at the very least it should be free for anyone starting out on 'Easy', not hidden behind a self-defeating (in-game currency) paywall - just what does that achieve for those players who most need and want what Auto Heal has to offer?
More illogical decision-making from the developer. Auto Heal is a great idea; it simply hasn't been implemented in a way that helps those who would most want to use it. Instead of making it instantly available to anyone choosing 'Easy' mode, you've placed it out-of-reach, whilst those who won't want to use it on principle (the good, confident, long-term players) will easily earn enough gold to afford it - but then never use it.
It's a simple change, and one that won't affect the game's difficulty or challenge for those who enjoy the harder tiers; infact for the harder settings I'm sure Auto Heal should not even be available as an option.
Making a game accessible and welcoming on its easiest setting is as important (if not moreso) as ensuring the game presents a challenge on the very hardest settings.
You clearly don't want to like this game. On easy, even without autoheal this game is very simply - I started grinding kills with paralyzer from the very beggining, and was still able to beat most of the game with that. You just demand to have a cheat (because as others have said game with autoeal is practically GOD mode), from the very beggining, even if you can respawn for small amount of money, upgrade weapons (oh yeah, really, if you died countless times that means you are to weak - and even for that you can just simply play biohazard mode, and after over a dozen minutes you can afford for basic shotgun) or buy a new one. Besides you can always run circles around horde and simply kill one by one (you can manage to do that almost everywhere except tight corridors. I have played a bunch of games, and this is one of most rewarding and friendly to player which I've ever seen.
Absolutely not true. You seem to be wilfully misinterpreting my criticism as hostility towards the game. This is not the case: I really like Dead Effect - I like its simplicity and it's presentation and I even like the way it plays.
All I'm asking is that the developers ensure 'Easy' is a valid option - and this suggests to me that 'Auto Heal' should not be something you only get after earning 20 Gold in-game currency (by which time logic would suggest you no longer need it, surely?). It seems baffling that it isn't a fundamental part of 'Easy' itself, right from the very start (with an option to switch it off again as the player makes progress and gets more confident/willing to challenge themselves).
I think one of the two extra game modes gives you gold, and even not you should play them to earn credits and gold drops to upgrade weapons. The Hydra shotgun fully upgrade even on hard just blasts away zeds. Also the second AR is a very good weapon to invest in early I did and it made things pretty easy. Some games you have to build up your character others you have to get weapons to get through tough situations. It's pretty common if it's too easy early on people would get bored with it.
You could probably earn enough gold for auto heal in an hour maybe 2, but it actually goes pretty quick gold drops fairly often and you no longer need it to respwan since you use credits for that now. I have like over 400 gold so yeah it's pretty is even if you die a lot you keep the gold.
But really weapons weapons weapons, the hydra shotgun I think is only aroudn 40,000 to 50,000 credits which can be earned in the extra game modes pretty quick or just by replaying the first level. (I think you get around 18,000 in the first level could be wrong) I forget the name of the Assault Rifle, but I think it would be in the middle it's a nice starting weapon pretty cheap and you can mow zeds down pretty easy. You can only carry one though so go with the one that would better fit your playstyle and try to stick with it so you can invest in upgrade.
Well, you have also survival and biohazard mode for grinding some money to upgrade your weapons too. You're not stuck at the second level once you understand what you have to do to survive in the first part. Besides, once your weapons are upgraded, it's piece of cake :D.
