Crashes on startup (SOLVED, IT'S COMODO'S VIRUS SCANNER BLOCKING IT)

EDIT: It's Comodo firewall being overprotective. Open it, go to advanced view, go to unrecognized files and find Tooth and Tail. Click on it, scroll over to Rating, click on Unrecognized and change it to Trusted.

Damn, I only checked if the firewall was blocking it. It was Comodo's virus scanner which has a reputation for false positives. It comes with the firewall, even if the firewall is all you downloaded.






Steam says the game is running for a few seconds, then says it isn't. Nothing happens. No message is given.

First time setup did not run, so I tried installing the redistributables from the game's folder myself. Still nothing.

I tried shutting off my firewall (Comodo) as it can cause problems, especially if the game needs Edge for any reason. Same result.

No crash logs available.

Event viewer claims a different error almost every time:

Yes very strange, what are your system specs (processor, windows version, RAM, Graphics Card and Graphics Memory?)

There's a patch available right now, I'm going to grab it and then try again at reinstalling the visual studio libraries. I told the 64 bit versions to repair the existing libraries, but didn't bother with the 32 bit as they have repair as the only option implying they should already be installed.

If that doesn't work, I'll try reinstalling .net as well. Something odd is going on here.

I just patched the game and repaired the 32 bit redists. .net framework is already installed. Same result, unfortunately.

No crash log was generated.

Interestingly, It worked fine until a couple of weeks ago.

I have the same problem. Game crashes on startup. No files in "crash" folder. I have installed all redists (both 32bit & 64bit) and .net from game's folder. I've re-installed the game, but I get the same error. I have Windows 7 64bit, AMD R9 270X graphics card. Anyone had any luck with this problem?

the game was not launched, I looked for a problem on a lot of forums.
after I did not run another game, I found on the forum information about the antivirus comodo. completely removing it (disconnection did not help, because it had built-in protection) the game started. checked with tooth and tail, it started. try it if you use Comodo - delete it and run the game.

Ok, i was using Comodo Firewall. Turning it off done nothing but when i uninstaled it the game is running w/o problems.

I had Comodo FW for 7 years on my PC and never had problems like that with any game. This is the first one.

I have no idea why Comodo have problems, but devs, please, try to fix that thing.

OK guys, Comodo Firewall here as well! What I did was: I went to Windows 7 Start button > Search and typed "comodo" (for some reason after an update I don't get comodo's tray icon, so when I want to open the windows I do this). With Comodo's window open, I started the game, I got 2 messages and I've registered the game as a trusted application. The game didn't start this time but NEXT time I started it, voila!
