Can't get the AI Harvester to work!
So, I've been having this issue for ages, and I don't know what is going on. Basically, buying a harvester, clicking on it, and telling it to 'Harvest' makes the little guy just do donuts in place.
Somtimes, the harvester will go around and pick up stuff nearby, but other than that, it does not seem to mine rocks at all.

I am confused as to what is going on, I've used the basic on, which didn't do anything, rebuilt it to be slightly bigger with bigger wheels, added more guns in different directions, and drills.

What am I doing wrong?

You are doing any thing wrong it is just that the AI does not have much "I" at the moment :( .

The harvesting AI became a little dumb when we changed the way crafting/resource gathering works in TerraTech (pre-Early Access). Improving the AI is high on our priority list right now so expect some improvements in the near future :)

Thanks for the fast reply! Appreciate the work you're doing. Hope AI gets fixed soon, It gets kind of boring carrying a base on your back to be effective

I was just about to start a discussion about how my "AI" was really just "AS" (artificial stupidity), when I noticed this. I don't know why, but my little AI bot, when I tell it to harvest, flips over and spins around in a circle...

lol sory to hear that atm the best way to use the ai is for sentry guns note this means they are attached to the ground with a rotating base. When set to follow they will agro any hostile techs that come within range (note weapon range and visual range are two differnt things, and the enemy tech has to either shoot the turett directly or get really close for it to agro)

they had a few bugs to iron out getting the latest build out but A.I is still really high on their list.

Thank you dev for priotorize this feature first. Be able to have a fleet and control them is awesome! I wish you add more control to them too. Like "stop, agressive, follow/neutral etc

only thing i found ai is usefful is to make huge base on one turret and set as much weapons i can.

I usally place base in desert more enemy to kill

Put guns on base.
Add AI block.

guns shoot bad guys.

Yeah I also hope they get them working soon. Having a few extra bots to carry resources would help a lot.

You can get them to do this. Keep the bots to Follow mode, and only give them GSO Dirt Wheels. Give them a tractor pad and go harvesting. If you get attacked, they will defend you, and you can attack from multiple angles.

There is the issue of going past 2 AI bots following you. If you go to far ahead of them, they will begin to follow each other instead of you, and won't move.
