You could not do 90% of it and the mobs that spawned were the same mobs from lvl 1, so not much to do with other players there.
Made MP pretty much pointless and just a scam tag saying MP when basically there was none. Now after all they have finally started to put MP/Co-op in the game which will (if properly done) mark this game as worthy of picking up.
Crafting has never been 90% of the game. In fact, it's one of the more cumbersome aspects of the game, generally needing to already be at or near endgame to be able to afford and have the parts to make a base that actually crafts the stuff you want. Multiplayer let you do EVERYTHING that single player could, minus the crafting, with the added ability to inventory blocks on touch, to actually buy substantial stocks of parts from the trading stations, and to actually play with other players.
I'm happy to see the crafting update hit multiplayer for 2 reasons personally. 1) so people finally quit whining about it, and 2) because now I can put furnaces on my techs to get power at night, which was admittedly quite annoying to not be able to do in multiplayer.
