It really sucks in my opinion, I will not do a Twitter account no matter what, but unless this will change, my opinion about this game will change for sure....any word from the Devs regarding the subject?
However, it might be worth saying the developers have said they wanted to add Steam Workshop support for Tech-sharing some time. I think. I'm not sure, but I think they did.
(Also, I don't use Twitter, but I have had at least 7 different Techs invade me, not just 2.)
If I have to do a Twitter account to play a game, even if I will never use it, Twitter will have +1 "customer"...nice eh? This is seriously irritating me....
We wouldn't be able to do this without Twitter. Eventually - we'll be able to do it through Steam workshop. It's on the to-do list.
I haven't played much in the past six months or so but generally I see every couple of updates add a few dozen or hundred techs to the population tree so the only way I can see the variety of critters not being more varied is that player's operated tech does not vary.
Invaders and critters seem to spawn based on an algorythm of what types of and how many blocks are on the tech you are controlling. Biome is also a spawn factor. Try using more of a different corps blocks, less weapons, more armor, roam around different areas, anything short of just one or two block changes and the same 10 second drive around.
Some times I'll 'game the system' by making a small tech of varied corp pieces, pilot it while I put an AI module on my main tech and have it follow me around. When something new and interesting spawns, I switch back to my main and surgically dissasemble the new mob.
I have twitter but don't integrate because I want to see approved techs while I'm trying my own shennanigans to break or test the game but I can still get varied enemies and pieces.
