I'd say so. Do you like building vehicles? It's what keeps me returning, I am always trying to create a better vehicle. The devs are quite active in the forums and with weekly live streams. I cant say about updates since I've only been playing for a few weeks.

The devs are currently worcking on mutiplayer mode and updating its test branch a decent amout.

Oh yes, very active developers, active forums, game is getting more on quality with every update. Updates are not scheduled, but relativly regular, and updates are solving major bugs and issues. And game is close to 1.0 (expected during this year, my gut felling is maybe during summer). So it is worth buying before price go up on final release.

The whole reason I found out what "steam" was, was because I watched Terratech on youtube. I then found it was 20$ and I didn't buy it for about 3 or so years until about 2-3 weeks ago. I cannot tell you if I think it is worth it for you to buy but I can tell you that if coop comes out it will be the top game you want. I was pretty hyped when they released the deathmatches around Christmas time but I havn't played it yet because aparently you need to change the game version or something and Im worried I will lose my singleplayer world if I switch to deathmatch then switch back.

You can keep your save. I have been trying out the other versions for a little bit then went back to play the stable released version again. I copy the terra tech folder C:\Users\*your user name*\AppData\LocalLow\Payload update the game by opting in to the unstable multiplayer. Once you are done opt out of all betas and copy the terra tech folder back and the saves are restored. Creative co-op is cool but there isn't much to do yet.
