You can't, the camera can only be controlled using the right mouse button to rotate it.
Usually, the camera will automatically move to face the direction you're heading if you are moving, so if you move forwards it will face the front.

That's not my experience. I had to move the camera and it is such a mess ! Rarely saw such a poor UI.

Options>Gameplay>Camera spring

This slider sets the rate at which the camera will try to right itself while you move.

The main problem is that the game wants to make the camera face the direction you're moving, not the direction your tech (and probably most of its guns) is facing. Which is a problem if you're retreating while firing upon the enemy. Or strafing in a circle around the target. It's also a problem if you're hovering a helicopter over a target, as the camera will keep oscillating between facing forwards and backwards.

And here comes the target selection feature! Point your mouse over an enemy and press the middle button! Your weapons will shoot only at that target and keep it at sight, until it's destroyed or until you press middle button again to cancel.

You missed out a step: first, you have to get close enough for that to work. Like, practically point-blank range. If you aren't driving a tank, an end-game tech will blast you to smithereens before you get that close.

And if you are driving a tank, the camera probably works fine. It's aircraft, helicopters and hovers where the camera is the problem. And the nature of those vehicles is such that you tend to rely upon range rather than armour.

Also, you can only select an enemy which is on screen, and that's a problem because of ... the camera.

In short: the game seems to have been designed for people with three hands. One for WASD, one for the arrow keys, and a third one on the mouse at all times so you can keep the camera where it should be instead of admiring the scenery.

Oh god, so many flaws... at least I tried hahaha

Well, I'm a "pro" at moving the camera myself all the time, so I rarely use these features... hence my shallow intro to them. Dang it, now I feel like a crappy salesman xD

Mostly with land vehicles I have no problem with camera control and the lock on feature has enough range which is longer then your guns in most cases. And is usefull to focus and retreat.

Though with flying and hover tech it starts to be a bit more painfull when you also have the pg-up:pg-down and the arrow keys for a total of 6 axis controls. Which are hard to bind all next to wasd. And then still have to control the camera in that situation makes it painfull and one reason I stay away from like helicopter tech, planes have less of a problem but good luck hitting the intented target with your guns ;)

So will have to check if the game support HOTAS for controlling those techs.
