Tank Treads, how to?
I know it's probably a stupid thing to do xD But How do you use Tank Treads properly? I tried browsing for guides and didn't find much info.

I like durable mobility sources, even if they make me kinda slow, and especially one's I can position so they can be better protected... But whenever I try to use the treads they go slow, which is standard obviously XD but they also turn really janky like, worse than they 'should' mind you, and somehow moving or turning on completely flat terrain still makes them act weird for me. Am I just positioning them like an idiot? using too many? to few? the wrong kind? XD

Basically, how do I use tank treads 'now like a clueless twit that doesn't know what he's doing' XD

One thing I'd say... make your vehicle shorter and wider!

Colonel Meow is right, but I've found half-tracked vehicles pretty good as well. With tracks at the rear and wheels at the front, they can turn well enough and handle a good bit of weight.

Ooh this is even better, because there'd be no need to release throttle to turn faster I think... nice one :steamhappy:

Anyway, now that Better Future is here I'm in love with hovers #freedom :steammocking:
I still gotta unlock better future XD but i'm lookin forward to it ;3

ya... they did a good job with the realism on many parts in this game... but the tank tracks.... not so much...

i grew up using tractors of all sorts and tho it was very slow, the turning and handeling was better than any wheeled system....

if you turn and are not moving forward... your tech should literally pivot on its mid point. its a bit disappointing... especially with the wide variety that they have available....
Yeeaaahh... I've 'built' treads in more complex builder games than this that worked like that, TT unfortunately makes treads feel annoying more than useful D:
I literally spend more time using hte build beam to turn myself than I do actual turning...

the way any wheels/tracks work in this game makes it difficult to turn properly, i've noticed that lots of wheels will try to turn as if they were part of a set of tracks and that if you have more than two tracks your vehicle will start being janky when you turn, if you use tracks i would go with either geocorp for larger builds or hawkeye for midsize, if you want a small vehicle use just two geocorp tracks and they will likely go the entire length on their own, but using more than four tracks has never gone well in my experience

Dunno if anyone's noticed, but the centre GC tracks and the left/right ones are quite different.

The Centre ones have more grip, and around 50 kph.
The L/R ones have less, turn more easily, and also 35kph.

I have used the full edge of my tech and they were not as fast as my half tracked tilled one but it is still fast. The Half tracked tilled tech is "Battle tank sloped" and "Battle tank tracked"
