Fastest way to get carbite
See title ^^

I know I need to use the autominer, but it is really slow. Is there a way to mod them to make them faster, or to use more than one per node? Or must I just get lucky and find two or more nodes next to eachother?

You can try and stuff 4 autominers onto 1 seam, but from personal experience it is much easier to put on 3. Then, you can maximise the output from 1 seam.

There are also some blocks which you can scrap for carbite, but I can't remember them off the top of my head.

Yeah, thanks :)

I also just read a guide about putting more than one per seam, but the scrapping tip is actually really good. Thanks :D

Getting 4 autominers on a seam isn't particularly hard provided that it's on flat ground. And Carbite is found on the salt flats, which are the flattest terrain in the game.

Make a tech with 4 autominers in a fan shape (end of one onto the side of the next) and a cab. Then you can use switch-to-tech and the build beam to place it correctly. The autominers which are close enough to the seam will animate, which shows you which way to move the tech to get all 4 active.

If you just want cash, mine Erudite instead. It's more valuable, and you can often find 5 seams close enough together to have a single refine-and-sell base fed by 20 autominers.

If you actually need Carbius bricks for manufacturing, many of the GSO weapons use it, e.g. the STUD laser, 3-pound cannon, and 8-barrel mini-mortar. So you can scrap a load of those (if only there was some way to automate scrapping from your inventory). Or if you have a payload terminal for any of the corporations, you can just sell Erudium and buy Carbius blocks (preferably GeoCorp, as their resource blocks are the largest).

I'm Surprized that there isn't a GeoCorp AutoMiner, About 4-8 times the size, But produces a bit faster, possiblly getting More (or less) out of a seam. But is farmore forgiving, when mounting the seam (primarily due to it's size). I'd also like to see on that outputs to a conveyor.

Theres bound to be a workshop design or two where they've figured out how to cram 4 autominers on one seam. I've done it but it takes a little effort to setup as placement has to be perfect.

i just thought about trying to cram them, connecting all the autominers with some blocks and slapping a cab on and snapshotting. that could help a lot lol

tho so far i've only been able to cram 2 in there tho.

Would anyone happen to know of a good seed with ice/salt biomes near the start? That would help a ton too :)
And thanks for the tips once again.

btw just did an experiment. now i've gotten a saved triple miner that i can deploy anywhere. all ya gotta do is put the small dot thingie right ontop of the seam when you're deploying. works like a charm, all 3 connected without even using blocks. quick and efficient

related to that, i found a forum post on saltflat seeds. plenty of people posted but it was about 1 or 2 years ago apparently. try them

https://forum.terratechgame.com/index.php?threads/salt-flat-seed.4091/

if they dont work, i might dig around for a saltflat as well. i do have a game with a good saltflat positioned next to grasslands, desert and mountains biome which could be handy, and the coords as well since ya kno, im currently in it. i could post that if needed
Unless its changed recently, saltflats only spawn a good distance from the [0,0] start point.
like, 3000 out or so.

The easy fix is to start a creative game with that seed, fly around in a superfast flyer until you find a salt flats, note the coordinates, and then go there in the camapign.
