So, I accendentally used the build beam on my base
I know bases are supposed to re-anchor when the build beam is released, but for some reason mine is not. So, what are the requirements for a base to re-anchor?
I'm pretty sure I've removed all the wheels, so I doubt it's that. The anchors are the closest point to the ground, so that shouldn't be a problem either.

Oh, ok... If you enter the build beam while it's detached form the ground, it won't re-attach. So my base is stuffed then and I'll have to tear it down? Ugh.

If you have an Anchor block at the bottom of your base, it will reattach for sure. I hope you haven't break it apart yet.

I moved an anchor to the bottom and it wouldn't reattach, even multiple anchors across the whole base.

I also tried building a new base to test it out. As soon as I exit the build beam and it doesn't anchor itself (due to anchors failing to attach), it cannot be made to re-anchor itself. If you attach an anchor block to a cab on it's own (anchor to cab, not cab to anchor), it won't be able to anchor, regardless of if the build beam is used.

Was your base already anchored before you activated build beam? Some screenshots and snapshots of the base would be super helpful here. Cheers!

Bloody hell, I moved my base to a new location, and did it again!

I made a new tech to get a better vantage point for building the base, dropped the tech then accidentally pressed 'B' while trying to select it. Another base ruined my this damn thing.

Now I want the option to completely disable build beams on anchored structures. Let's be hoinest, we don't really nead it. It could be replaced by a build mode, which doesn't levitate the base in the air, but still allows you to move the camera below the base. Mabye we could even get the option to pan the camera in build mode, for those particularly large bases.

Yes, it was anchored and fully operational until I activated the build beam. It was on normal terrain, with no trees rocks or anything underneath it. After this screenshot, I added in a scapping system to the left off screen. When it lost it's anchorage, there was a wheel atteched near the scrappers. (Which I removed during my attempts to re-anchor the base, to no avail)

With my new base, it was operational as well, although it was in a 'slightly' more precarious location. I wouldn't expect a base to anchor properly from there, although it would be nice if build mode didn't detach it in the first place.
