Base building grid
I have an idea, but it may not be needed if there's a feature that I don't know about that alleviates this problem:

I've been building a wall around my base. I wanted to great a gateway where I could backup my resource collecting tech and have it unload all of the resources I collected. I have a conveyor system within the wall, but not attached to it. When I try to extend the conveyor out to the wall and up it, it's not spaced correctly so that the conveyors will attach to the wall and stay connected to the rest of the system. Is there a way to either move the whole wall however far it needs so that it lines up with the base, or vice versa (move the base to line up with the wall)?

My idea is that a grid type of system for building the bases would be helpful it making sure that multiple separate bases can be linked up as things get more integrated within the base build.

There isn't a way to connect the bases, however coming in the current experimental there's a 'resource dropper', which will drop resources out of one conveyor system, so they can be picked up in another.

Bingo :) this was added to solve the issue with disconnected bases. Try it out!

had this game on my watchlist for sometime, reading this post makes me more curious. I assuem the reason to build a wall aroudn your base is becuase your base can get attacked? Can you elaborate on the base defense mechanics for a potential buyer?

The market has been saturated with voxel games the last few years and this is near top of my wanted listed but oen reason to hold back is alot of games like this have great ideas of building crafting etc but most of them give you nothing to do with the stuff you build like i want to fight, i want ot be under attack andhave to defend. I want my creations to have a purpose rather than collect dust after i built them.

How does this game shape up in that department? Sorry to hijackpost OP i guess your wall question sounded like there is purpose beyond just building and going out looking for a fight :) Sounds hopeful it matches my likes as above?

An idea to go with this is to make it so you can interact with an anchored block and choose to get a top down view as high up as realitive to the size of the total base.

We're always trying to find the balance between the player being under threat - while still being able to build and grow without getting crushed in the middle of a rebuild. There are a bunch of systems in place for this - Invaders, safe zones, critters (small Techs that are there for harrasment) and so on.

I'd recommend purchasing the game and playing it for under 2 hours in the Main Campaign. This should give you a good idea of what's in store -- and if it's not your thing then Steam will issue you a full refund (so long as you remain under 2 hours and refund within 2 weeks of purchase). Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

game's interesting, and if you build near a spawn spot you'll get your worth out of base defenses.
