i cant join any public servers

i dont have any friends that own or play gang beasts so im trying to join a public / online server but instead of me joining a server it just puts me in a lobby by myself, and ive searched up many things to try and fix it but nothing works i just keep on joining a lobby by my self even tho i want to join a server with other people, i think im just missing something but i dont really know

I'd say to make sure you're matchmaking for public not custom, but iirc the game blocks you playing custom if you're alone, so the next best advise is;

• Play at peak times in your region if there aren't a lot of players
  
• Try finding players outside of matchmaking (such as the Discord) since it's often inconsistent.
  
• Try reinstalling your game, or fiddling about with your internet, you may be unable to properly connect to the servers
