Something like this really seems to have very mixed opinions, there are people who like the idea and people who don't. Also, it also depends if we are talking about melee weapons, and firearms - Which we are talking about both.
For me, I don't think it would be a good idea for the vanilla version of Gang Beasts to include it firearms. Though, some melee weapons may not really be a bad idea, but I still think punching, kicking, headbutting, etc should be always be the main ways of attacking. Although, once this game has Workshop support, it would be very cool to see more weapons for both melee and firearms.
Guns would probably be super inaccurate with the floppy nature and controls of the characters. Guns would probably work best as a ranged enemy type of sorts.
Do you have any source that Star Beasts having laser guns or any source that players in Grim Beasts will be able to use magic?
Star Beasts will be a space-themed sandbox game where you'll have to build spaceships and explore other planets looking for precious materials and resources (with the addition of annoying aliens), it's not know what the word "Beasts" could mean in the game as the devs shared little to no informations on this game... (and laser guns aren't confirmed by the devs, while everything else I wrote in this post is actually took from YouTube/IndieDB message from Boneloaf so they're "official"...)
Hmm. Didn't know how much the Beast games were gonna differ besides the setting (aka fantasy, sci-fi and modern) makes much more sense now why they are gonna be different games now.
