Low FPS with gaming laptop, help!
I tried lowering the settings and graphics and stuff and it still lags! Here is my laptop stuff: GPU: GeForce GTX 960M, CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz, Memory: 16 GB RAM, Current Resolution: 3840 x 2160 60Hz, Driver Version: 368.81 and my operating system is windows 10. Yeah I copied that off of my NVIDIA program thing.

I have a gaming laptop and I find that having it plugged in charging helps alot and maybe if there is a power saving mode that could possibly be on aswell?

You may be using your CPU (i7-6700HQ) instead of your GPU (gtx 960m) by accident to render the game

Follow this step by step to get the GPU to render the game
  1. Open up the nvidia control panel
  2. Go to manage 3d settings
  3. Click on program settings
  4. Click add
  5. Then while in the add menu, find Gang Beasts and click on it, then add the selected program
  6. Next under select the prefered graphics processor, choose your gtx 960m (may be called high performance nvidia processor)
  7. Then click apply, wait for it to do its thing for a few seconds, then you can close out of it and try playing
If that doesn't fix the issue, tell me

For a CPU, the one you have is really beefy but when it comes to games then you're probably going to be wanting to use a GPU instead

Lmfao hahahah. gtx 960m's are great. It's not the GPU that's causing his frame rate issues. Know your ♥♥♥♥ before trying to make a smart ass comment

Ok, just going to throw out random things you can try doing. Methods near the top are the one's most likely to work.
  • Make sure your video driver is up to date [According to your post, you are out of date which can cause severe performance issues]. Here, this[www.nvidia.co.uk] is the download to the latest video driver for your GPU :) (I set it as UK English so idk if you want to change that or not)
  • Make sure you have your computer plugged in and charging
  • Make sure your computers' power plan is on "High performance" or "Gaming"
  • Make sure you minimize the amount of apps running in the background
  • Clean your desktop, the more programs on there - The slower your computer runs
  • Reinstall the game
  • Verify the game cache
There are probably more things you can try, but that's just all I can think of atm

Also, based off your specs - You can easily max the game graphics out, just I wouldn't recommend exceeding 1080p (1920 x 1080) while playing this game, if that's what you are doing

And haha, no worries, you can add me if you want. I'll accept the request and go ahead and delete me if if want
