Gang Beasts
Sound Bug?
Game runs absolutely fine and all indications show that the game should be producing sounds. It's not muted, I've verified the game cache multiple times, and no problems with Windows. All of the sound settings are maxed except for music, but the game is not outputting sound at all in the volume mixer. (As a side note, I'm running the multiplayer update)

Huh. I've never seen this before. Try verifying the game cache. If that doesn't work, just wait for Spoof to walk by
Hi!

You're absolutely sure there's nothing wrong on a simpler level (speakers/headphones unplugged, wrong audio device set, etc.)?

You've said you get no sounds at all - is that across all levels? If you set the music volume back to max, can you still hear the music? I have a sneaking suspicion that the music volume slider is affecting more things than it should...

I'll have a quick look and see if I can reproduce the issue.

Thanks!
I'm definitely still getting sound if all volumes are set to 100% and music is set to 0%. It does, however, seem that beast on beast sounds seem to not be triggering correctly. I'll note that one down ;)
Called it, Spoof strolled by :P
I had it at full volume to try and see if I could get something. Still no sound. I'm definitely sure it is just the game itself; I logged into a few other titles and they're all working perfectly fine. Even layering Voice Attack over Elite: Dangerous works perfectly fine, but still no sound.
Thank you for helping and being an active dev, Spoof. It's greatly appreciated
So I opted out of beta and reinstalled; the problem is entirely isolated to 0.4.4, and I ruled out anything on my system. I'll try opting back in after the reinstall (this is my 3rd time reinstalling overall) and seeing if that fixes the problem. [P.S, sorry about the late replies, I posted this right before bed, and then I had work to do in the morning. Finally got some time in the afternoon to fix this problem.]
Chropankers, I've run into the same issue. Only 0.4.4.
Ok, there's obviously a particular set of circumstances that are causing this, since I can't repro just by setting my music volume to 0%.

Chropankers and Uplinked, can you both post the exact levels for each section listed in your audio options? Additionally, can you post your logs, just to make sure there's not some sneaky error cascading into a sound problem?

To post your logs:

You'll need two logs: output_log.txt (under the Gang Beasts_Data folder, next to where the .exe is), and # Gang Beasts Log.txt (under the LogCS folder, under the Gang Beasts_Data folder), and you can post them somewhere like pastebin.com or dropbox.com.

Thanks!

Here ya go. I appricate the help.

Brilliant, thanks guys.

Both of your logs show a specific FMOD initialisation error. There's two easy fixes we can try immediately:

- Restarting Windows' Audio Service:
Open Task Manager
Switch to the 'Services' Tab
Find the 'Audiosrv' service
Right click, and select 'Restart'
Restart the game try again

- Update your sound card drivers
This will vary based on manufacturer, so I can't really give any detailed steps :(

Let me know if either of these steps help!
It worked, and fixed another audio issue I was having in another game. Thank you very much!
It hasn't worked for me and I'm honestly perplexed. I have no guesses as to why it hasn't helped.

Perhaps because you have a different computer and different setup, which, as is pretty obvious by now, is the cause of the problem. Maybe it's an incompatibility between the game and your computer, but it definetly isn't the game. I dunno, your specs could help if Spoof comes back.
