The only other ways to get other builds of the game other than the ones listed on that thread are to of either had them saved on your computer (or find someone with those builds saved), or there is also this weird SteamDB website/tool thing that you could use to access any other build you wanted, but I don't actually know if that ever worked for anyone who tried it.
Physics are fine :p.
Lol dude, it all looks great in that video but you have to play to feel it.
The punches/directional punches and grabs used to work 10x better.
Do yourself a favour, follow these steps:
Right click Gangbeasts in your steam library.
Go to properties.
Click BETAS tab then select [LEGACY - Last Unity 4 build.]
Have a play around then come back here and be honest about your experience.
Now it just seems like all you can do is spam because your punches go in random directions regardless if you are aiming your left trigger where you want them to go.
In older versions simply picking up a knocked out player, or a hat would launch you and the object you picked up into the air, sometimes even killing you. I agree somewhere around version 1.4.3 or something? was the sweet spot, but things are still improving in my opinion.
The game requires more skill now.
I do agree having to spam is annoying. But it's not that bad as long as everyone isn't just trying to kill themselves and drag you down. Kicking/headbutting has also become much more effective so I try to get people near edges, knock them out and then quickly try to throw them off.
New physics are much better, you can do things faster and more effectively and everything is more snappy and refined/precise.
The older ones felt like the characters were costantly underwater or something, they were really odd and IMO not too fun to play with; the new ones make the action a lot faster-paced and bouncy, they just feel much better!
