How do i climb with (xbox controllers)

OK so I love this game but i've noticed everyone else can climb or use both hands at the same time but i cannot please help!

The left trigger does the left hand and the right trigger does the right hand. Far as I recall you hold A (jump) when both hands are on the wall to pull yourself up (raise torso) and then release a hand (trigger) and reapply it shortly afterwards to grab higher up. Repeat for the other hand and you're on the way.

for some reason it won't let me use both hands at once

sorry I think I meant bumpers rather than triggers..

But yeah.. if you're just standing in the open or something, pressing both bumpers should raise both hands

I have mine set to triggers and it wont allow me to use both at once

Make sure XInput is checked, HOLD the trigger to bind, don't TAP or you might bind the trigger depressing, if it is bound to depress there will be a minus symbol
