5 Players in local

hi, I just discovered that the new version can supports 5 players in local and i want to know if anyone knows how to put more players. Yes, I now the new version doesn't support more than 4 players but if it now supports 5, why can't support more? I wanna play with more friends and i don't like the old version but if anyone knows something please help!

Old versions could have up to 8 players local.

but i connect 7 controls too, and when i press the jump buttom it not appears. and is not the controllers cause in diferent order i put it, all works. Do you have xinput enabled?

Xinput must be disabled, otherwise limit seems to be 4.

But whem i put xinput disabled, i cant use any gamepad :( please i need help with xinput enabled i can put 5 players but disabled doesn't work!

I'll test to make sure, but last time that's what happened... I'll also check the weird steam controller settings stuff, could be interfering I think?

Well i use steam controller settings and idk how desactivate it, Maybe that's the problem, But with the beta legacy i can play without any problem. I need more info, Many people has the same problem and there's no tutorial or any help to fix this!

Ok, same thing happened, I used 6 controllers, not enough batteries. With xinput enabled it allows 4, disabled allows 4+. Makes sense, I think xinput is for additional Xbox controller driver options such as vibration and it normally allows 4 controllers in game. I use 2 adapters because the limit on receivers is 4 controllers as well.

In the steam controller settings menu all "configuration support" ♥♥♥♥ is turned off, it keeps ruining things here.

In every game I play, controller 1 is player 3, controller 2 is 2, controller 3 is 1. 4 is 4. I don't know how this happens but at least it works. I've had this issue for a year or something so it's unrelated, just shows that the steam controller support stuff is very messy and annoying. At some point I was able to control the mouse with my controllers without steam being turned on, that was when I decided to wreck everything steam<->controller related settings. Stuff becomes unusable with it.

how do i get the controllers to work if Xinput is turned off? I cant navigate the menu or play the game with controller if it is off.
