Chat for gang beast

Multiplayer isn't ever finished without a way to talk to your friends or guys you play with! I understand you can *or could, haven't played gang beast in a while* use your mic, but there needs to be a chat platform where you can simply type on your keyboard after u press a key on the designated controller they're using and send a message to everyone in that game.

I know, I'd love it! However with how fast the matches are and how little time you have to type in between stage loadings it'd be really hard to use unless you're dead and you're spectating, and since there is no after-match winning screen or anything you basically have no time to type stuff.

In my opinion the game should instead let you type 8 short messages (or choose 8 ones between a bunch of pre-set ones) and you'd be able to quickly send those short messages by either clicking a number key on the keyboard (from 1 to 8) or by using the second analog stick on a controller (maybe in combination with a button hold).
It wouldn't be perfect but it would still allow some sort of communication in-game outside of voice chat.

I don't know about that for people on console this is a great idea as chating on consoles via text chat is horribly complicated and presets are a blessing. But I want to talk over text chat as well, not everybody has an microphone. And even if they do not everyone want's to talk over the microphone.

You should be able to customize text when needed so have thoose preset ones like Good game, Congratulations, Easy, Oh my god, Thank you, No, Yes. And make an option to write you're own messages on the bottom. Which opens a keyboard layout on consoles and on PC let's you create your customized text with no keyboard showing up.

In this case only having either pre-set messages or a set number of "empty" messages you can customize (with the keyboard for PC/Mac/Linux and with an on-screen keyboard for consoles) would be the best way to add an in-game textual communication.

If you play Rocket League, it has a very similar thing. You can click 1-4 for and click 1-4 again for which ones u want (pressing 1-4 first time will open up a category like "surprised" then it will give up another 4 options like "Wow!" "Oh my god!" So you don't have 4 options to quickchat, but 16
Also for controllers, it instead of 1-4 is the little arrow keys on it.
