We've encountered one or two issues trying to get the server tools out for you folks, but we should hopefully have them resolved pretty soon. Once it's available, you'll be able to grab it from the Steam Tools page (on your Library tab, click 'GAMES', next to the search bar, select 'Tools', and look for 'Gang Beasts Server').
It's coming! Keep your eyes peeled :D
Will there be (or is there already) any doc on the dedicated server, like requirements, config maybe?
There was apparently an update for the server tools on SteamDB 4 hours ago? Was the issue resolved?
I still don't see it on my end at least (even after restart), and your response made me feel like it was actually resolved. Hope all goes well!
yangjo I guess the issue is not resolved, I'm getting the same error message since I first tried to download it with steamcmd for linux (and being logged in as anonymous):
Steam>app_update 497110 validate
ERROR! Failed to install app '497110' (No subscription)
I just hope it's out today....
The server tool should now be available on Steam for you to download and host your own server. you'll find it under the 'Tools' section of your library if you own Gang Beasts on Steam.
Thanks!
If a launch them it opens a black page and asks me to input some commands, vhowever I put them in and they don't seem to work...
How do you set the thing up properly?
If you enter '?' or 'help' (without the quotes), you'll be given a quick list of commands you can use in the wrapper
The first lines say this:
[ERR] PUT failed:
[ERR] Failer on uri: api/instance//1
[ERR] With the contents:
[ERR] unofficial_version: 2.0.0
[ERR] System.Net.WebException: Can't set up a connection with the remote server. ---> System.Net.Socket.SocketExceptions: Can't enstabilish a connection. Consistent refusal of the end computer 52.32.251.24:80
Then there's a lot of lines that start with "System.Net." and at the very bottom there are two identical errors:
[ERR] Failed to ping server browser
[ERR] Failed to ping server browser
