how many local players play at the same time

i have 5 friends who all want to play the game at my place at the same time i knew it was possible but there was a bug that didn't allow for more then 4 players has that been fixed and can you play up to 8 player locally?

Hi!

As Pybro says, there's a bug in the current unstable version that blocks more than 4 players from playing together locally. You can still play with up to 8 players on the 'stable' build on steam.

Yes, this is fixed in our internal 0.5.0 version, and will be rolled out with the rest of the update :)
