In your case the game normally made the opponent pick ypu up and throw you as that's what they saw from their screen, but the LAG didn't make you see what happend correctly and the game simply made the player keep executing the same action they were doing (walking).
It's not a hack, just a rare and weird istance of LAG...
Yes, Lag.
Sometimes they have a little fun with the spawning functionalities. With it you can spawn in props, AI, and invisible forces like what you're explaining. They can do this on all online servers. You can do it too if you host a server or play in local multiplayer
It definitely may have been lag but it just may have been a developer messing around in your lobby
No, It was definately lag. The devs don't do this.
However being "picked up/levitating" due to lag compared to using the attracting force both look and act different when you actually visualize them - Of course though, the only one here that saw it was the OP and we can only go off what he's explaining, and it sounds like someone was using the spawning tools, but again it also still could have just been lag, as you and Scrooge are saying.
Quote me correctly so I have an idea what you want from me, Maybe?
It doesn't matter how well you hang on, Once any part of you touches the grinders, THEY pull you in.
