I second these. Last run my skills were glitched and only usable on my tank Magmama against last boss. Also Grandpa share shield skill is definitely bugged. I tried putting shield on him 4+ consecutive times on a turn and the ability didn't trigger. Only he had block.
In terms of slots I prefer that they aren't specific slots. Sometimes I don't use active abilities at all on some characters and that gives me more freedom for more builds. More slots would be fun, but they'd have to do some serious rebalancing if they went for that.
The fact that we have to choose what we want to take is the whole strategic part of building a character if you can take whatever you want there is no choice just waiting for the build-parts.
You already said that stuff is too powerfull what do you think will happen with 4 passive slots per character and 3 attacks ?
There are skills you don´t always want to slot in that is a strategic layer that comes into play once you know most enemys like the status-heal skill from boop or the armor ignoring skill from pyropaws and in those fights you may sacrifice some damage or damage scaling for the ability to counter the enemy.
With that many skill-slots you woudn´t even have to think about that just throw them in the build.
The game is really easy most of the time and maybe needs more difficulty options and balancing when it comes to certain skills but the amount of skills feels just right.
Restrictions bring creativity.
Why even let us choose if all the options but one are subpar
You can rebalance the game, that is a thing you can do. With the slots available right now I'm just filling them with certain offence and defence skills and have very little need to switch anything.
1. You want the whole game to be rebalanced becourse of one idear you had that looses all its value with a rebalance becourse you can´t know that the problem that got you this idear before would still exist after said rebelance ?
2. I never said you need to swap stuff but against certain enemys some counter skills make it easier/faster.
The reason you dont need to swap in counters is that the game is too easy and while it shouldn´t get so hard that you really need to do that it should get so hard that the option is a big + .
The main-problem is that the game is to easy.
