That is also why when you have a perfectly fine path in a large park guests will get lost. It also happens when lots of paths branch off without ever looping or connecting, (or sometimes even tooamy connections or too wide paths,) so to fix that just ensure your park sidewalks are either real straighr or that they loop around in a circle.
A good example is Dinky Park after buying the lake and surrounding second area. Guests often become confused as to how to get back to area one and leave the park if you only have one walkway as they expect to walk in a circle. Just make the path go all the way around an area with an eventual reconnection or simply leading to the paths exit in a linear manner.
