Won't Start after installing
I have installed it twice and the first time I try to run it a steam window flashes up for a second and it never starts.

I got it to work with help from Sega support. Pasted below

In order to troubleshoot the issue, please go to the following place (based on a default installation):
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Dawn of War III_CommonRedist\vcredist\2015 and re install the redistibutables that are within that folder:

vcredist_x64
vcredist_x86

Just double click the files and choose the repair option.

I've tried it and, sadly, it didn't work. Anyone got the same problem? I reinstalled all the C + + libraries in my PC, but all it does is opening the Steam window and then it just crashes.

I know this game is not that good, but it's still a shame, at least the army painter would be enjoyable for me :( :D

I did all the steps U did without success. Than i did my own "fault diagnosis" and it FIXED my problem!

If u use win 10 goto settings "Virus and threat protection" ... "monitored folder access"..."Manage monitored folder access" ... "Allow app through monitored folder access"... set RelicDOW3.exe as exception. (maybe also steam.exe)

I've got the german version of windows10, so i dont know if all steps named exactly like i did. ;-)

Hope it helps!

(Fix workes for many Steam games dont starting/saving progress, like Sanctus Reach, or Hotline Miamy 2, to count a few...)

Thanks! I've already got a refund for the game, but next time it'll be on sale, I'll try this solution, it sounds like it may just work. I'll also try reinstalling some old graphics card drivers, just to be sure.

Wish U best luck!

If it doesn't work U can also try this:

1. Close the Steam client.
2. Click the Windows button and type "UAC" in the search field.
3. In the User Access Control window, click and hold the slide bar —slide it to the lowest
setting available.
4. Click Ok at the bottom of the window.
5. Open the Steam client and try to run the game, if that don't work try installing the game
again with low UAC settings.

I don't even have that option on Windows 10. Because it says it's installed, but when I look it up in the Apps and Features / Programms and Features, it's actually not listed.
Fuyuma Sep 23, 2018 @ 3:01am
dont think vcredist_x64 or vcredist_x86 is listed in programms and Features. And if windows say's it's installed. I think that isn't your problem ;-)

(Did you try my postet solution?:

"If u use win 10 goto settings "Virus and threat protection" ... "monitored folder access"..."Manage monitored folder access" ... "Allow app through monitored folder access"... set RelicDOW3.exe as exception. (maybe also steam.exe)"

I set the vcredits install files themselves. Didn't work, seems the install is broken too now. And all other vcredit of all previous and laters years are listed in apps and features, too. So I didn't bother further and just refunded since Sega doesn't care to do its job as a publisher. -.-

In my case sega defs weren't the problem, because microsoft (win10) causes the problem. Back to your VCREDIST problem. Did you try that to fix vcredist?:

right click start button
choose command prompt (admin)
copy/paste this into window and press enter:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

after it's finished, type:

SFC /scannow

and press enter
