Of course I'd cut the FPS part without a 2nd thought, but combining DoW RTS gameplay with Battlefleet Gothinc Armada creating some sort of Total War-Like game using space and space battles instead of water and naval battles could be interesting.
Something like Star Wars Empire at War
.....but with a larger Pop Cap
.....and the Traditional DoW 1 Economy Pacing (no more Escalation economy) and you will have a winner.
The Community and Hardcore Fanbase had every right to Reject DoW 3 and Rightly so.
What was wrong was the Lead Developer not listening to the other Relic Staff and the Culture of Relic with only a core leadership pool of a few making decisions that many knew would not be successful.
All Relic had to do was Design DoW 3 to play like the Redux Mod
.....but with a larger Pop Cap
.....and the Traditional DoW 1 Economy Pacing (no more Escalation economy) and you would have had a winner.
If DoW 3 played like the Redux Mod but with the Traditional DoW 1 Economy Pacing you would have had something closer to SC 2 and it would have been much more successful.
