WEM to OGG conversion :b:roke, could use some help.
(Edit : this is in "general discussion" because I doubt that it would be fitting to put it in bug & errors, as its not an in-game problem)

So, basically, i've been trying to convert the DOWIII sound files into something that could actually be heard (in order to listen to the units' voicelines).

Despite having followed this guide : https://forum.worldofwarships.com/topic/95552-converting-wem-to-ogg-for-sound-mods-tutorial/ and it having worked pretty good, I cannot, for the life of me, find the converted files.

I cannot find them in the "Numbered" nor "Non-numbered" files, neither can I find them in my antiviruses' quarantine, and I don't think searching inside 1 TB worth of data is going to be a good solution.

So, I really could use some help, even if it has to use an alternative technique.

(Do note, however, that i've tried using the conversion.bat technique, and that it didn't work either, so please send help !)

https://audio.online-convert.com/convert-to-ogg

Try using an online converter, it may be less convenient but at least you have better control as to where your converted files end up.

I actually just noticed (thanks to the help of a friend of mine) that Divinity Sound Converter actually converted the file from .wem to _WEM, which explains a lot in my opinion, nevertheless i'll go check out the online converter and tell you how it went :D

After having entered one of the files to convert, it turns out that I got an error message, having read the FAQ of the site, I think that what they call the DRMs (the copyrights, if you prefer) prevent the files from being converted, which makes me sad, although I can't really blame Relic in this case.

Try https://katiefrogs.github.io/vgmstream-web/
It's working even on some .wem files I have that are having the same issue. One group of files worked fine using that converter, but another group of files fails 100% of the time. But with this I'm able to listen to a good portion of them. I believe some of the files might not contain audio at all.
