Why Dawn of War 3 Failed So Hard...
We loved both or atleast one of the other of Dawn of War
Dawn of War 1 and Dawn of War 2

But why did Dawn of War 3 failed so hard?
Because it became a Starcraft Moba.
I mean given that Starcraft was inspired by Warhammer
for Relic to make Warhammer Dawn of War 3 an almost-copy of Starcraft was a sick joke nobody expected.

And quite frankly
LORE BREAKING BOLSHEVIT

SERIOUSLY?
FLIPPING GABRIEL ANGELOS?
FLIPPING GABRIEL ANGELOS WITH A DAEMONHAMMER?

"Oh I need to go to this point from here, So Click on this Button so I can do a Flip to this location and smash the ground for no reason. Just to go across a crevass or reach the Upper Ground"

ARE YOU SERIOUS?
THATS WHAT YOU'D EXPECT FROM A STARCRAFT GAME
(Zeratul had that happening for quite a few solo missions even)

he does
but he never did backflips with it
or front flips
he use it for war

jeezus these guys are genetically made for war
they have no time for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ show-offness.
otherwise thats heretical to Emperor's Children level.

Who cares if he backflips or not? If that's what stops people from playing an RTS, like seriously go play another genre.

I think it's dumb too and it's part of a bigger issue, that being lack of 40K themes, but it's really far from the biggest issue the game has.
Varivox Nov 30, 2017 @ 7:27pm
The overall problem (imo) is that the game has 0 personality. Aside from the 40k skin, I found very little that helps differentiate this game from so many others, that all have something to set themselves apart. Every moment I played, I found myself wondering why I wasn't playing Starcraft or Warcraft or DoW2 or Grey Goo or... etc... Starcraft is Starcraft, Warcraft is Warcraft, DoW2 is DoW2 and Grey Goo is Grey Goo, but DoW3 is all of the above but in so doing also none of the above. Taking a least common denominator approach to game design simply won't win in the long term.

DoW3 failed to take risks and for that reason it failed. It wanted to be the safest game they could create and, in so doing, doomed their game to mediocrity.

Actually the major issue of DOW3 is it feels like it's been made to be a mobile game which they decided to sell to PC users too in order to maximize gains in the last minute of developpment.

This is then a poor RTS game for pc, compared to COH2 or even to SC2, trading strategical maps as tactical fights of the COH sery for fast paced blobing fights of SC2 with the same poor maps but minus the resources management and the mind game of the map control.

Let's just ignore all the other "silly" stunts that characters do in other WH40K mediums (including in other games)...

DoW III is made to be a mobile game? I don't see how, It's too complicated to mechanically even work on a phone (the gameplay and the controls would need to be heavily diluted), let alone run on one (the graphics would have to be heavily diluted and most of the technical plugins would need to be replaced)...

Graphical wise and buildingwise i see it happening.
Since the animations and lack of "strategy" and immersion of units are as bland as most war games on mobiles.

Absolute lack of arguments...check
Reducing opposed opinions into mere lovers/haters childish war to simply ignore any form of contradiction...check

Any relevant comment to add or just the usual worthless spamming ?

its weird how someone who uses the emperor as a display pic
would blatantly ignore the abhorrent nature of the lorebreaking issues C.S. GOTO nonchalantly did to the entire story?

I think you give mobile gaming too much credit (there is nothing worth playing), there is also a difference between seeing it happen and it being realistic. The engine would need to be heavily reworked for mobile chipsets and hardware limitations as well, the mobile game would cease to be DoW III.

suprisingly
there are some mobile games with more deep engine gameplay
e.g.

The alchemist code
Honkai Impact 3

those games suprisingly have a really well made design
that could still be playable without being P2W

Alchemist Code being a good example of RTS game
since its a turn-based RTS that pride itself of something similar to FF Tactics.
