Eldar Late Game & Warp Spiders
Eldar late game seems to end at Tier 2 with the wraiths, also what's the deal with warp spiders? 5 EP and they seem to barely do any damage at all. What do you guys think? Warp spiders only decent ability seems like it's the ability to teleport your melee units, side not I tested the damage buff upon teleport and it's only applied to the warp spiders not other units that teleport through the portal as you might guess from the tooltip. What do you guys think?

The warp spiders can teleport multiple times in a row. You can literally jump units across the map. They can also do a nasty bit of bombing with their mines that they can place from a mile away.

People seem to think, "Oh if I just spawn this elite, i'm going to win EVERY SITUATION

what done said. and at a 5 point cost they aren't meant to be late game dominators. If you have all 5 point-cost or less elites, you'll have trouble if you haven't ended the game or solidified an advantage by the time the enemy is putting out 10 cost elites.

Different Elites, different playstyle.

Go ahead and spawn Ironmaw and play them like Imperial Knight Solaris

Warp spiders are a very good harass unit, jumping to the back lines and taking out weaker units in small engagements, and jumping to back line resource nodes which barely anyone builds listening posts on and you can hamper the enemy economy very easily. They arent meant to be frontline nukers, they are meant to annoy the ♥♥♥♥ out of the enemy and make it so you can push with main force while some are distracted trying to deal with Warp spiders.

I'm seeing a lot of backline harass and resource harass. Try using them on a listening point and you'll be stunned to know they do ass for damage against buildings, they seem to be the worst pick for 5, and seem like they even get shown up by scorpions and macha. Maybe we'll see a cheese coming soon with them.

Sidenote : Nobody has mentioned Eldar lategame, no comment?

Eldar late game boils down to Wraithguard still, wraithblade is the single handed best Melee line unit and will completely annihilate everything in melee unless its a higher tier melee elite. Fire prism's are also quite good when used in conjuction with warpsiders, as you can teleport them around and gain a damage bonus with them. plus very good aoe so late game it will help clean up enemy armies.

Just looking for some variety since that's literally what happens every game...

well there isnt much variet after wraith units considering all the rest are practically T1 and will end up losing in later game fights.

Warp Spiders do tons of Normal damage. They are great for destroying infantry, and can very easilly keep away from melee units with teleports, as well as any othwr unit nearby if they jump in for a ride.

Warp spider mines do percentage based damage, which helps keep them viable late game against vehicles and larger units.

This is all good info with one small caveat, the mines seem really hard to trigger, the unit has to basically step on a kill me button with them. Also, I've found when kiting with warp spiders stuns really ♥♥♥♥ you because say you tele half your army away and the other half gets knocked back the portal doesn't stick around long enough and you end up cutting yourself off.

Obviously the answer is to not get stunned / knocked down but it's such a common mechanic, macha is common along with weirdboy and don't get me started on gabriel although that's a close range one so not really an issue.
