Blood Ravens confirmed Blood Angels Successor?
Or just another case of bloody Magpies?
There is a dubious amount of "IX" markings on their Armors...

At this point it is getting a bit excessive with carrying another Chapters/Legions insignia.
Honestly.
If their dickering is going on that way it is not the Inquisition or Daemons that stomp 'em but some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoyed Death Company.

Considering how much ♥♥♥♥ Ravens steal from others, it might just be that.

Heck... they stole an entire Venerable Dreadnought or at last its replacement parts

"Even in death I shall serfe! Uh... Techmarine?"
"Yes Dreadboy?"
"Where are my brothers of the Blood Angels?"
"Blood Angels? Oh Dreadboy. You were sleeping to long. We are the Blood Ravens. Classic Dreadboy."

Geneseed Origin
There is much speculation around the exact origin of the Blood Ravens, most specifically about which of the First Founding Legions they are derived from. Several possibilities have been presented by various interested parties, which can be found below.

Blood Angels
Argument principally based around the Chapter's name and heraldry.2e

Raven Guard
Argument principally based around the Chapter's name and heraldry.2e

Dark Angels
General rumour.2e

Thousand Sons
Similarities in battle doctrine 2b.

Imperial Fists
Chapter has been known to maintain Primarch Rogal Dorn's weapon. 5.

Cyrus later reveals that Thule had found and read records of the Blood Ravens origins during the Kronus Campaign, but destroyed them. While it is likely that the documents did not reveal the corruption in the Chapter's ranks, the revelation that the Blood Ravens have possibly descended from a traitor Legion could potentially tear the Chapter apart.

It was later learned that CaptainThule had found and read the records that told the true story of the Blood Ravens' mysterious origins during the Kronus Campaign...but had destroyed them once he had learned the truth about the Chapter's Founding.

Chapter Badge
The Blood Ravens' Chapter badge is a silhouetted raven in flight as seen from above, incorporated with a stylized drop of blood within. Because of their name and badge, it was once theorized that the Blood Ravens were a Successor Chapter of either the Blood Angels or the Raven Guard, but both of these suppositions have been denied by Games Workshop. It now seems far more likely that the Blood Ravens may be descended from a pre-Horus Heresy group of Astartes from the Thousand Sons Traitor Legion who remained loyal to the Emperor of Mankind.

I do know the rumors yet it is fishy to see them running around is the most expensive gear of the IX legion.

It's also been confirmed by a black library writer that the blood ravens are *NOT* a thousand sons pre-heresy group. which is odd because there is so much ♥♥♥♥ pointing towards the opposite
