Space Marines: Drop Pod units aren't affected by doctrines?
After some time with the game, it seems none of the units called in by drop pod have the effects of Doctrines. I have tested this with Tireless (increased Tac. marine move speed) and Terminator's Presence (Heavy Bolters don't need to setup/tear down their weapons). Unit's from drop pods consistently do not get the buffs, while produced units do.

Is this a bug or by design?

Could be by design, Idk if it'd be that good/balanced if you could just drop a load of heavy bolters and have them unload immediately without any setup

The thing is, those heavy bolters still have the passive icon in their unit screen (which says they shouldn't need to pack/unpack. I have a video of it, I will put in in the main post.

Bump.

This is a pretty impactful bug, if it is indeed a mistake.

Bump. We should have Feedback/Bug Report Subforum, here, on Steam.

Yes, that could at least serve as a "To Do" for the devs to check out later. Stuff like this now falls through the cracks

Though I will just mail support if I don't hear anything

Sounds like a bug to me. I've always seen orbital units portrayed as "normal units that don't get deployed until you ask for them".

I don't see any reason they shouldn't get doctrine buffs.

Indeed. Which would mean a large amount of Space Marine units get no buffs. I personally use Drop Pods quite often.

I will mail them about this and keep this thread updated.

I have mailed the devs. They got back to me and wanted the Warning.log so I made a special recording of the problem and the acompanying warning log. I also pointed out that this isn't a "bug" on just my system, but rather just part of the game.

All we can do now is wait and hope they fix this quickly.

Thusfar I've had no response from the support team. I sent them another mail asking for confirmation that they're are looking into it. I will keep you guys posted on any developments.

It's not only drop-pod units; when you reinforce a squad that suffered losses, the new squad members don't benefit from the doctrine either.

Wait, so in the case of the tireless doctrine (makes Tac. Marines sprint), it's possible for 4 out of 5 dudes to be slow with one guy sprinting?
That's insane.
