Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III

İstatistiklere Bak:
I'm seeing the word MOBA tossed around like it has meaning
Aside from the stupid multiplayer mode they released...how is this like a MOBA?

the art style is actually a clever compromise, so don't pull that horse♥♥♥♥♥♥ it'd be more DOTA or LOL if you were going to be specific, but not unique to MOBA's either...actually it's more like Age of Empires Online art style but matured.

EDIT- if you're just going to say "it's a moba, because it looks like a moba" without actually detailing how it IS a moba, then your opinion will be ignored completely.

Go google what moba stands for & then re-read what people posted.
I already seen many saying why this feels like a moba, if you keep asking, then you just want to trow salt on purpose. :)

Ohh no, ive played a lot of moba games, spent a lot of hours in them, I know what a moba game is, and ive done same when comes to RTS games :P im just asking these guys what they think is "moba" cause they apperently dosent know at all which they prove themselves by commenting back when they drag in points they claim are "moba" when they actually dosent matter at all when it comes to define what type of genre the game is :) so its mostly just to prove that those guys dont know what they are talking about when they have to defend their "moba" claim and comes with things that dosent matter at all or are just incorrect :)
Once again, youre just trowing salt, people already stated why they think this feels like a moba.
The game feels like an arena game rather than a battlefield.

a sea of 0.3-0.7's
It just came out, many of the positive reviews have less than 2 hours as well. How long do you think someone has to play a game before they can decide whether or not they like it? If I start playing a game and I don't like it I'm certainly not going to play past the refund limit.
the refund limit is 2 hours.

most of these people spent ten minutes actually playing the game, wrote attrocious and lazy "reviews" and refunded.

how much do you think you can play within 10 minutes? certainly can't determine if something is a MOBA in 10-20 minutes, which is less than the first and second mission in terms of gameplay unless you went in actively looking for those elements and declared the whole game a MOBA for that alone.

it's either that, or they lost pitifully in multiplayer, got salty and refunded.

if there were more 1.0-1.5's then I don't think there'd be many problems, since that's more than an acceptable time to check out the game

I think the problem is mostly with players.I have noticed that for the past 2 years people have become extremle pretencious to games, movies etc in terms of quality. And first thing they usually attend to are the negative sides not even noticiyng positive things.Basically i think if relic relised a merge between first 2 dows, like everyone now wishes, then people would be ranting that:"THERE IS NOTHING NEW IN THIS GAME WTF ARE YOU ASKING 60$ FOR??????"So basically i think the problem is mostly with gamers nowadays. And also we cannot say what budget this game had, because DOW never was a financially succesfull franchise.Well yes it did earn money but never in the amounts the Starcraft 2 did or other RTS.And Sega might be cautious about this project due to unknown profit from it,putting different borders on Relic i terms of budget and development, maybe trying to appease some people who play MOBAs and some who play RTS in order to earn more money.I played Beta and relise version. And I think its cool to see at long last my beloved franchise. And im quite worried that if people will continue to ♥♥♥♥ this game the DOW series will just die, cause SEGA wont see the reason to continue develop this franchise due to its unprofitability.(I apologise if my English is bad, because
A)Its not my native language
B)I just too salty from modern people not enjoying anything and whining on every thing they encounter)

Some does state why they fell that yes, but a lot are just throwing themselves onto the wagon claiming it to be one without saying any reasons for it at all, and its not reallying "throwing salt" when it is to show them that they are wrong in many of the "reasons" of their claim.

maybe trying to appease some people who play MOBAs

Just by this, you should realize on why theres negative reviews.
Those people bought dawn of war 3 thinking they would get a battlefield warhammer 40k game, not an arena e-sports game with 40k skins.

so what makes DoW III an E-Sports game with 40K skins, and not Dawn of War II?

Most of us played open beta which is not included in playtime. But still you see a lot of bad reviews under 2hr playtime but you see even more good reviews with less than 1hr. "I love this game - 0.6hrs" "This game is amazing - 0.9hrs" if its so good why none of them actually plays it?
Now the game only game mode plays and feels like MOBA. It have all basic elements of moba and RTS but the heroes are ultimately godlike compared to games like W3, maps are lanes each is covered by turret which can be destroyed by destroying generator which is not covered by turret(for some reason its good strategy to have crucial part of the base unprotected) and you have one main building which wins the game. You had mobas like Supernova(sadly it wasnt released) where you controll your hero and build units that were controlled by AI paths. In most of MOBAs you have jungle, there you have resources scatered across the map but u still get resources even when you got nothing. I dont remember RTS where you get resurces by doing nothing.

EDIT: Dont forget bushes. they are totaly RTS.

This game MP mode is more like MOBA with RTS elements than RTS with MOBA elements (as W3 for example)

There's certainly problems with gamers, but definitely problems with studios too. I mean, it took an entire studio of developers and millions of $ in budget to come up with DoW 3, and this is the end result. Something went terribly wrong and you can bet questions are being asked in meetings across the company about this colossal fail. And of course people notice the bad side - is it ok if a man beats his wife as long as he he buys her flowers and gifts every now and then to make up for it? OF course not, negatives tend to outweigh positives.

That's just wrong. Looking at the most recent reviews the average play time is about 1-2 hours. An hour is plenty of time to decide whether or not you like a game. Is it really that hard to believe somebody played a few matches, decided it was too much like a MOBA for their liking and left a bad review?

The sad truth is if this attempt fails we are mostly likely never going to see any installment of the series

no, it was right for the early brunt, now few of the recent negs are over the 1.0 point, and oddly those reviews are somewhat hypocritical. Either some people are padding for the "seriousness" value, or they are not really in belief of what they said. Because a lot of them who said the game was horrible, are still playing, others who said they refunded have more time now than they can have played for the refund time limits.

also, you realize the "most recent" reviews are usually 20m-1h delayed yes? mine didn't get shown on that until an hour later. which shows that a lot of the reviews who said the game was horrible, are either hypocritical, stubborn, or padding. like the "ReviewExperts" do it.

I wonder how many people calling it a MOBA have actually played a MOBA as opposed to just seen what they think one looks like.

Makes ya think.

Seems like many have no clue at all, they just join the wagon calling it a moba.
The thing that I find most entertaining about all of this is that people keep screaming 'It's soooo arcady!' when talking about the current multiplayer mode yet these very same people would most likely be quite content with a VP style game mode. Ya know, the one where whoever accumulates the most meaningless points by camping 2 out of 3 towers/power points/golden eggs for 20 minute 'wins' somehow? Only the really real, super duper hardcore RTS modes for these gents!

Honestly I'm enjoying what DoW 3 has to offer. It's not the second coming of Christ, but it's hardly the putrid vortex of evil that people are making it out to be. At this point I'm convinced that Warhammer just has a ♥♥♥♥ fanbase in general because they seem to whinge ENDLESSLY about damn near anything.

Just hope the circlejerk of tears ends sometime in the next few weeks and that sales prove sufficient to keep the Dawn of War series rolling in the future, be it with the current model, DoW2 model or something else that Relic thinks up. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
