Trouble making grapple jumps

I play with keyboard and mouse and most of the grapple jumps/swings are fine, but now and again I find one I can't do. I'm currently stuck on the "Partners" mission, trying to break into Jabba's Palace and every time I get to the jump after sneaking past the guards, I fall and die. I've tried shortening and lengthening the rope, and using W and S to swing back and forth, to give me momentum, but nothing works. Does anyone have any useful suggestions?

Hey Vulcan's Hammer, thank you for updating the thread. Sorry to hear that you also encounter trouble with this grapple jump despite the advice from others above.

I do not know how to make a video. I have an Alienware M18 R2 laptop with an Intel I9 14900HX GPU and a Nvidia RTX 4080 graphics chip.

Have a look at this guide on How to make a screen recording[support.microsoft.com] It should help you.

As for the jump, keep in mind this is a part that you need to complete on your own. As said before, it's a tricky jump but it's doable.

I made the jump. I have been using the "C" key to get off the rope and failed every time. I switched to the space bar and made the jump on my third try.

New to this game. I'm doing the demo, I'm following Hoss"s trail. I found the crashed speeder, I climbed up some rock, I see a grapple point up on a high piece of metal. When I look at it, a grapple icon appears. When looking at the grapple point, with the grapple icon showing, I think I"m supposed to throw and hook the grapple point.
HERE'S THE RUB- I can't figure out how to equip my grapple hook, I've looked at several article online, In game the controls listed are Grapple Hook, Release- C, Extend-Q, Shorten- E. Whatever button I keep pulling out my pistol and firing it.
LMB- shoots my gun, Looking at the grapple point and hitting E for interact, nothing happens. I don' see an inventory button, and U- equipment does not show a grapple hook to equip. I thought I used it back at the water plant, but I see there is a cable in the ceiling. Did I use it, could I have left it there or do I even have a grapple hook on me?
What the hell, is it so obvious I'm missing it or am I just stupid/??
Any help appreciated. Playing on PC, I want to use my grapple hook on a point that is above me to pull myself up. Thanks...
