Really Super Bad Performance In Certain Areas/Auto Save Bug
So game has been running great with raytracing set to high and RTDI set to medium bene a smooth ride... till i got outside of the ship wreck and found the ship computer ...entire area outside as your leaving and fleeing game just went to crap FPS wise down to the under 10 fps and was whole area till i got farther away at such a framerate took a while.. then FPS went back to normal

I had this happen on this area and another two areas earlier in game following the story

My system specs are over the recommended and game was running smooth till these areas so its not my pc setup lol

I also had a ledge during beginning of game about hour in i jumped down too and the ground started getting black squares on it as i walked .....only had that issue in that perticular area

another problem is the auto save system is bugged...i had to sneak into a imperial comms center...im way outside of facility get off my bike sneak around a little outside and took a break ....i go to load the game and suddenly im inside the comms facility .....the devs have some issues that still need addressing this one had me laughing a bit as it saved me having to sneak into the facility all together

Ryzen system with rtx---
ryzen 7 5800x
rtx 4070 ti super 16 gig
32 gigs of ram
nvme
win 10 x64 22H2 build for os

like i said im over the recommended game ran fine otherwise,my windows is fully updated, c++ redist and all my other games run wonderfully... the game has areas that need serious optimizing or something is going on in those areas that will cause the fps to tank considerably till u get away from said area then fps goes back to normal...

the open areas of game were fine it was this area outside of the ship wreck were u have to find the nav computer for your ship fps tanked below 10 fps and 2 other areas had same issue.....the super big open areas ran fine and no issues on speeder bike....when i did get the tanking though i will mention i was fleeing the ship wreck on my speeder bike.... i also have dev back ground a bit something is up with those areas either bug engine side which tanks the fps till u get away from area, the speeder bike or the areas need further optimizing

now i was using the nvdia RTXDI feature set to medium which like i said game ran great other wise ...since that is actually a sdk from nvdia(i have a dev thing with nvdia so i know about there sdks ) it may be issue with that since it is a sdk addon to Snow Drop engine to add RTXDI

this is not something normal that deals with graphic settings... the open areas of game were fine it was this area outside of the ship wreck fps tanked below 10 fps and 2 other areas had same issue.....the super big open areas ran fine so that guide will do nothing i also have dev back ground a bit something is up with those areas either bug engine side which tanks the fps till u get away from area or the areas need further optimizing

seen people with rtx 4090s getting frame drops leaving negative reviews on this as well so game does need further polishing

Thanks, Draconus.

Yes, your PC specs is absolutely fine. I had to check it.

As for the low FPS, if this keeps happening, can you record short videos from the low FPS affected areas (let us know exactly what areas these are), so we can pass it on, please?

Also, try disabling some of the graphics features (even if they work well in most of the game) to see if there is something specific that causes it. Perhaps RTX Direct Lighting?

As for your last message, please report this bug in a separate thread so we do not mix up issues in one, as it will confuse us all.
yeah they havent fixed this yet, got a 4060 and my game constantly lags on tattoine, like a screen tear everytime i walk around.

Hey JohnMdfcknGio

Sorry to hear it.
As advised before, please record a short video of this issue, upload it to YouTube for instance, and share a link with us.
How to make a screen recording[support.microsoft.com]

What are your in-game graphics settings? What resolution?
Are you using upscaler? V-sync or frame limiter?

Give us more information please.

Do you have any additional software running in the background, other then the system requires?

Depending on what exactly is causing the lag this may not be the case a recording will most definitely help either way.

Many thanks

the game is already demanding as it is a 4060 is a rebranded 3060 which stink for gaming and trying to record at same time...if he tries to record with that 4060 and try playing this very demanding game his fps will be so bad i doubt he will be able to record anything that will help you guys in least bit...why i said something and you being a dev should know this...your gona end up with vid that is 5 fps for whole vid how is that going to help you????
Ubi-Vinci  [developer] Apr 7 @ 8:43am
Thank you, Draconus.

It's true that screen recording at the same time when playing is hardware demanding.
A recording with a mobile phone positioned on something stable, with good quality video recorded would also be good enough to present this.

If there are specific areas where you experience significant FPS drops, please let us know the locations, the extent of the drop, and your in-game display and graphics settings.

We can forward this information to the game team, but first, please test with Ray Tracing set to a lower level.
