Help with the mission "The Wreck"

In the mission "the Wreck" you have to shoot a generator with an ION beam to get a door to open. This is a main story line quest so you can't advance in the game without finishing the quest. The door wont open. I've tried troubleshooting the issue (this issue is a known bug). I've tried killing my character, going to another planet and coming back, exiting the game, starting over from a previous save, checking files for errors, reinstalling the game. None of these fixes were able to solve the issue. I can't progress in the game without finishing the mission so I'm at a loss of what to do. Of course I tried requesting a refund but I've played more than 2 hours so it was denied. I would rather finish the game so I was hoping I could find another idea here to get the story to progress. Thank you for your message and sorry to hear it you cannot pass this quest.

This issue was under investigation and we had feedback it was fixed.
Try shooting the generator from farther away and see if this helps with the door.

You have to equip the ion module by pressing '2' or whatever button is set for the ion module in your options

Same bug today, and same bug on Fallen Mound to close the door, the generator doesn't care i shoot it... And yes i am sure i shoot it with ion. And i tried from various distance on the one in Fallen Mound and the "The Wreck" one... tried save and restart, same bug
