When using the sniper scope, framegen is being disabled.
With framegen, there is a 2x fps difference when aiming with sniper.
While without framegen the fps remains exactly the same.

Hey IchigoMait,

Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

Which frame generation technology do you use?
Did you test all of them - DLSS, FSR and XeSS and they all behave this way?
Could you record a video of this issue, please?

Also, if the frame generation is disabled, do you have the same, stable framerate when viewing through the sniper scope compared to free roaming?

I only tested DLSS framegen, the fps remains exactly the same when not using framegen, which is equal to when using framegen while aiming with a sniper weapon.

RTX 4070, latest drivers.

So far this doesn't happen with other weapons.

framegen enabled

framegen disabled

Side issue, why I can't do it with 1 video.
I can't record and disable or enable the framegen at the same time, the game will instantly crash after trying to apply the changes.
Technically it happens when obs is just running, even when not recording or capturing anything.
When not using obs, framegen disable/enable works fine.

Hey IchigoMait,

Thank you. I cannot tell you what causing a conflict and a crash when OBS is running in the background, sadly.

As for the videos, they are great, however, without the framerate counter enabled in Steam overlay, it's not easy to tell the difference.

If you don't mind, can you do that with the counter on in Steam, so we can clearly see the numbers? Sorry.

The steam overlay fps indicator is at the bottom right, in green.

Ah, yes, it is indeed. I missed it before, sorry.
I'm happy to pass this on in an internal ticket, however, I cannot promise you anything.

If you don't mind, could you check if the frame gen is not applied in a binoculars view as well? No need of a video, just your word.

I'll update this thread again, once it's done - Internal ticket submitted.

Binoculars work fine, so far just sniper zoom for some reason disables framegen, at least it doesn't disable it permanently, only while zooming in.

Thank you for your updates on this.

Once we know more we will be happy to share an update
