Can't Start the Game
When I go to launch the game through Steam, Steam itself says the game is running, but nothing actually loads.
I've tried the commonly reported fixes for this--restart computer, update graphics drivers, disable Ubisoft Connect in-game overlay, etc. Still can't get the game to start. Beginning to think this one just won't be a game I end up playing and I'll need to request a refund.

Small bit of progress--I tried launching the game through Ubisoft Connect which then opens Steam, and that will launch the game, albeit with a two minute long black screen where nothing happens and nothing can be interacted with. I was about to force the application to close when it finally took me to an accessibility screen where, after selecting an option to start the game, I'm taken to a mostly black loading screen with "Star Wars Outlaws" animated in the lower left corner, but nothing happens from there.

The same problem -I bought it, decided to play today - but the game just won't start. Is anyone our solution to the problem?

You have to run as an admin. Which isn't a big deal, but other games have figured out how to launch on steam without admin rights.

Update: I have been able to play without any further changes, but the loading times on that black screen are simply excessive. I can start the game and play it, but only after waiting five to ten minutes for each loading session whether it is a new game or loading a save game.

Also, many environmental elements (doors, walls, floors) don't load in immediately, so if I run into a building, it may not be a building that was part of the narrative, and the door might render in after the fact, trapping me inside. Same with floors--if I run into an area too fast, the floor might render in after, trapping me beneath it. I wouldn't expect to have such issues being on an RTX 3090, but here we are.

Further update....Today when I went to play the game even after 20 minutes there is no end in sight to the loading screen. I decided to kill the game through the task manager and go back to grinding on Ark.

I would refund the game and re-buy after they fix it.

Had the same issue, spent 40 mins trying to resolve. Then I moved the game from my mech hard drive to an SSD. It fixed the issue immediately. To be fair the game made this clear as I got a warning that there will be problems if I don't use an SSD.

Hi Johnny Stokino,

I'm pleased to hear that you were able to resolve the issue by installing the game on your SSD.
