Not sure how you can put Kay in a slave Leia outfit and make that work though😄 from a narrative standpoint.
Fun fact:
Carrie Fisher strongly disliked being forced to wear such a revealing costume. She took some satisfaction in killing Jabba who had forced her to wear that outfit. Well - actually it was George Lucas.... but I guess Jabba had to do.

I personally like Kay just the way she is.
The normal/majority of gamers have seen enough of this and are simply tired of putting up with it.
Just make a fun and interesting game with interesting characters without any of these studios politics bleed into it? Why is that such a bad thing to just ask for a fun game to escape real life for a moment?
Kays visual appearence is NOT based on Humberly - she did the voice and motion acting (and did a fantastic job).

Humberly González is the actress who played Kay Vess, the protagonist of the 2024 video game Star Wars Outlaws. Born and raised in Venezuela and living in Canada, González believes that her character's story of an underprivileged person who had the resilience, charisma, passion, and strength to keep moving forward reflect the experiences of the Venezuelan people. González also hoped that Vess, showing her heart and vulnerability—the "kinks in the armor"—while being a strong female protagonist would inspire other women, and particularly appreciated that Outlaws gave her a chance to be the leading woman.

That said I strongly feel if they went with Han and Chewie, then put a little more effort into the open world, this game would have made millions.
Why not hire a fugly actress then and put the dots on her face instead of hiring a beautiful actress and then not use her face or acting performance, only her voice and body performance? It literally makes no sense. In other productions like Uncharted and tomb raider the actors do everything. Ubisoft’s way is counterproductive and speaks to a mid development artistic change.
Yes.
Absolutely.
I was also going to add that Carrie Fisher detested the whole *slave-girl metal bikini* rubbish, she said so many times in interviews.
I also like Kay exactly as she is...one of the positive points of the game.
...and that is exactly the problem here. Some ridiculous narrow minded expectation from some that the main protagonist should be some kind of Florida beach-walker when her character clearly isn't (and would be wildly inappropriate if that were the intention).
Compare the actual person too the NPC character, and it's obvious the NPC is freaking ugly.
She would have looked like leia the HUTT
