Is it possible to play this as an action game with no stealth?
I think the game isn't bad. I like a lot of it. It's not like we get many sci fi open world games, let alone a Star Wars one. However, I just think the stealth is so bad in this. The Ai is somehow really dumb, but also super alert in a broken way. I somehow get scene when I am not anywhere in sight. Also, how come you can't hide dead bodies? I mean, that's stealth games 101.

If I drop it down to story difficulty can I just do all the missions by blasting everything up or the stealth is just too core to the game play.

There are some scenes where stealth is required, and some scenes where blasting is required, but most of the time you can pick your playstyle. I'm the other way around - bad at guns, great at stealth, never had a problem with being spotted, or getting stealth takedowns in the right spot to strategically drop the body - so maybe I could give you some tips? What mission are you having trouble with?

Its not a mission in particular, just in general where I am having issues with the stealth. I just find it boring and a little ridiculous at times. They don't seem very reactive to the distractions or the whistle or anything like that. They also seem to tend to gather in groups and they are hard to split up. I just feel like the game is really not well balanced for it. Makes me want to just go into the Imperial bases guns blazing but I figure you will die pretty quick if you do that.

Also, I thought they took out the stealth required missions? I just wish they made the shooting action better to compensate for that. The blaster is so weak and the weapons you pick up they get used up too quickly. Would be cool as well if you could use your grappling hook more like Titan fall, which would give her an edge in large fights.

I honestly want to quit but then I get to a mission where I have to rummage through the ruins of a crash site and I'm like yea I'm definitely can't stop playing this. It's def feels like a legit star wars experience so far but the gameplay is what's shotty to me.

Yes it is but in larger bases the enemies will continue to spawn. There's also insta fail sections but those are rare.
The stealth is challenging at first but I wouldn't call it bad after they patched the auto-fail if you break stealth out.

For me, in this game as well as any other "assassins creed" or "far cry" style of game, I go in to a mission trying to be stealthy but by the end it's become a massive noisy murder spree. All it takes is one mis-step and stealth goes out the window. So yeah, generally I'd say they can be done without stealth beyond the few missions where it's required, especially if you keep your faction levels maintained.

Sure, but the AC games at least usually gave you ways to get back into stealth. Break line of sight. Drop a smoke bomb. Hit a hiding spot. Avoid the searchers.

Is there anything like that in this game? I've barely started playing it.

This game has smoke bombs. I'm pretty sure you can break line of sight and reset the enemies if you wait a bit.

Okay thanks. Been hoping some of my "Ubisoft Assassin" skills would translate to this game. :)

That's basically how I play those games too. I like stealth mechanics, but after carefully dispatching dudes for like an hour I can't be bothered with restarting that. I wish all stealth games had a quick save.

However, in Far Cry or AC you are well armed. This default blaster blows and when you do get a real one, it runs out of energy so fast.

break line of sight then crouch in any bush and watch them stand right in front of you saying they lost you... immersion breaking xD
