1. People are free to do what they want, nobody is stopping them. If you can whine about what they want to make, they can whine about what you want to make. When someone says "it's a game man, move on" I expect them to follow their own advice.
I already conceded that people are mostly trolling about this game since there is no "stake" in it, the more vulgar about it at least.
2. Saying unattractive people are actually attractive won't make people change their minds. People can tell which person is more beautiful and is predictable 99% of the time, even by you. You can't change the standards of beauty, if I show you two pictures and you either say "number A is more attractive" or "people would say A is more attractive", you have a clear understanding about who is attractive and who is not with both answers.
3. it's the motive they're against and the inconsistency between what they're trying to pull off and their assets.
1. Yeah people are free to be racist and otherwise regressive pieces of ♥♥♥♥ and I'm free to call them out for it.
2. Dude, you completely fail to grasp the point of the whole thing. I was working with your argument, the 99% people saying X is beautiful supposedly being objective. This isn't objective because if the 99% then say something else is actually beautiful instead of the former that only says they change their minds but one or the other doesn't suddenly stop being beautiful just because a bunch of people says so. I didn't accept your reasoning, I employed it trying to reason with you since that was the kind of argument you would accept, but you actually don't accept it as soon as it clashes with your wishes of how things should be, therefore each and every single thing to talk about it is 100% moot. Beauty standards are arbitrary. Of course I can't change people's flawed perceptions of what supposedly objective beauty is, but I am free to try <3 and while I'm at it, Aloy's peach fuzz is heckin cute (imho, just for the record)
I'd need to see "number A" AND "number B" first before I could say who/what I find more attractive, and what I find more attractive is all too often very different from what "most people" find attractive. But yes it is very often very predictable who would be perceived as more beautiful. Very astute my dear Watson.
3. Posturing, feigned ignorance, euphemisms, call them what you want. Nothing I haven't said more than enough about already. Regressive types pushing back against what they hate. You trying to make it out to be a matter of beauty is quite hollow. Like, I get that you believe this to be true, but that doesn't mean it is the truth. Of course you can turn this against me as well but, consistently it is regressive people just being regressive people using any kind of supposed or actual objectivity as a means to an end.
At least these exchanges weren't all useless to myself, even if just a fraction of it actually bore something worthwhile. And if you're lucky some day, something will shake up your world so you can see differently, it can only go upwards from that point forward.
1. There's nothing racist about creative freedom, everybody is free to create anything. You're not entitled to success, nor are you entitled to a spotlight.
2. There is no if, they're not going to say it. Feel free to make a million polls in all the cultures in the world, even isolated ones. They'll answer exactly the same way. Statistical error is irrelevant when it conflicts with widely accepted and established standards.
It's predictable due to objective criteria. You too know who is more attractive, objectively. I can easily mentioned two famous people, but I am not sure it's allowed but you know I can easily make the point. You'd have a hard time if both were of equal level of beauty, say between 2 supermodels, that's subjective and I wouldn't argue against it. But between a supermodel and an average person, there is no debate. The average person loses every time.
3. I'd argue they're using it as a means to an end to go against established standards, I just want to enjoy what everyone would enjoy more, like looking at someone pretty. Since you are too cool to care either way, why not widen the circle of potential customers to include shallow me.
My world shaken how? Even if I was unattractive, it'd be much easier to make myself attractive than change society to find me attractive. The only thing creative choices like this makes me wanna do is not want to play the game, it makes no sense.
And even so, they're free to make things I don't like, and I am free to give feedback that they'd be looking at higher sales if not for some of their choices. If they're satisfied with their sales and pushing me away for absolutely no reason, then they can create 100 more for all I care. But I'd still let them know why I am not their customer.
There's no need to take it further when the arguments still stand.
The gist of it is this, you said "The oppression and exclusion has not been as "active" as much as it has been inherent".
You're wrong right from the start, creative freedom makes all your arguments moot.
Does society prevent anybody from creating an alternative product? No.
Do laws? No.
That's all that matters.
There is no inherent evil. Nobody is entitled a spotlight and nobody is entitled success. Life goes on.
If people are free to create the product they want, what are you whining about? What is "inherent" about the gaming industry?
You're trying to attribute the result you don't like to a cause that doesn't exist. You're just mad for no reason.
Watching spinning hamster wheels turn does have something cathartic,
Me, whining? You're confused, people around here are whining about Kay Vess supposedly being ugly and all this being some woke conspiracy theory. You're the one who keeps bringing up something nobody has said, anyone claming to be owed or entitled to spotlight/success? Pretty mad barking up against arguments nobody has made. Don't worry dude, I get where you're coming from though, but meritocracy called and wants its myth back.
Racist hiring practices, ever heard of it? Though, as I said before, I would be surprised if you saw it that way, more likely you're just the same type who's going to harp about how progressive people are the real racists and sexists for incentivising people from marginalised backgrounds to apply for jobs and trying not to just hire straight white dudes. All of your supposed arguments would hold water if we were all equals. But we're not. Look at this alone, or any of the other games irrational people call "woke" and then for their untimely demise.
Enough hamster wheel watching though. More of a note to self so I finally stick with it but still, my last reply to you since you're just dodging everything you don't like and keep spinning ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
No, have you? You can't just claim something as if it's a conspiracy and then blame others for the same thing.
Also, you can't just move backwards as in "I don't like the result, so there must be something fishy going on or else I'd like the result, so we must change everything to match the result that I like".
That's like saying "I was supposed to be a billionaire and since I am not, you're all against me so you should all help me become one or I am being opressed".
Happy new year.
But then you could make an evil white male character... and we cant have that you bigot!
You have to accept a main character made intentionally ugly compared to the woman who she was modelled off... oh and you are not allowed light Sabres in a Star Wars game. You have to rely on stealth... and the stealth is really bad with brain dead AI.
Enjoy!
I haven't bought the game (yet), 'cause I need to check the gameplay a bit more - but from the pictures I think Kay is super cute ... just look at those eyes.
I was waiting for a female Han Solo who Gets the Job Done for ages.
Too bad many (not all!) NPCs look very ugly or middle-aged (Where are the young people? Where are the attractive people?). Taste is subjective, but aesthetics is objective...and there was zero focus put on aesthetics when it came to designing most of the human NPCs. Hopefully mods will take care of that in the future.
And we also need mods that remove the +50% of female Stormtroopers/Imperial Personnel everywhere, which is nothing but immersion breaking, goes against well established lore and is highly unrealistic (especially many Fem-Troopers wearing heavy gear....), this game has too much a ridiculous jarring amount of woke/dei influence. It really stands out in this game, negatively.
I mean, since i noticed it, i've visited at least 3 imperial camps where 90% of all NPCs were female.... what is this ratio??? And this is supposed to be set between Episode V & VI.... There were female Stormtrooper in lore...but they were an extreme rarity. RARITY.
No need for sexist revisionism in Star Wars. Just respect the lore and respect the intelligence of players. This game got great potential if it wasn't so woke.
She reminds me of Kassandra from assassin's creed odyssey. Definitely recommend the game, has beautiful visuals and it really captures the star wars vibe. Especially in the cantinas.
